KBO picks and predictions

Friday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Kiwoom Heroes vs Doosan Bears ML (-140)

With the SSG Landers win streak finally coming to an end on Thursday morning, the Kiwoom Heroes might be the hottest team in the league heading into Friday. The Heroes have won 6 games in a row, most recently beating the NC Dinos 1-0 on Thursday. They are now 7-4 on the season after having started the season 1-4. The Heroes will start Tyler Eppler on Friday, who has yet to record a decision. He has made 2 starts this season, allowing 5 earned runs in 10.1 innings.

The Doosan Bears come in with a 3-game win streak of their own, most recently beating the KT Wiz on Thursday morning. They will counter with Choi Won-Joon, who is 1-1 to start the season. Through 2 starts, he has allowed 3 earned runs in 12.0 innings and has an ERA of 2.25.

Despite the impressive win streak for the Heroes, backing them with Eppler on the mound is tough to do. He certainly has had a few early struggles this season, while Won-Joon has proven to be more consistent in the early part of the season. For that reason, backing the Bears and the better pitcher will be the play.

KT Wiz vs Lotte Giants ML (-150)

The KT Wiz dropped their 4th straight game on Thursday and will look for any kind of momentum to avoid an even worse start than they already have had. They will start Bae Je-Seong on Friday, who is 0-1 on the season. Over his first 2 starts, Je-Seong has allowed 4 earned runs in 11.0 innings. That gives him an ERA of 3.27.

On the other side, the Lotte Giants won their game on Thursday, beating the Kia Tigers 3-2. They are now back to .500 on the season and will be looking for their 2nd straight win. The Giants will counter with Kim Jin-Uk, who is 1-0 to start the season. In his lone start, he allowed just 1 earned run in 7.0 innings against the NC Dinos.

Backing the KT Wiz has not been profitable so far this season and it looks to stay that way against a decent Giants team. The Giants also have what looks to be the better pitcher, so backing them on Friday is the recommended play.

Samsung Lions vs SSG Landers – Under 6.5 Runs (-112)

These are the top 2 offenses in the KBO at the moment, the Lions averaging 4.7 runs per game, while the SSG Landers are averaging 5 runs per game. Though with the starting pitching scheduled for this matchup, runs may be hard to come by. The Lions are allowing just 3.2 runs per game and the SSG Landers are allowing 2.2 runs. During the 3-game win streak for the Lions, they are allowing just 1.3 runs per game. Granted, all 3 of these games were against the Hanwha Eagles, but their pitching has been strong enough to expect a low scoring game. For that reason, backing the under will be the play.

Looking for a bigger payout? Play the best bets as a 3-team parlay — which pays out at +440.
