KBO picks and predictions

Sunday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

KT Wiz vs Kiwoom Heroes – Over 7.5 runs (-126)

This total looks to be a solid play because while Ko Young-Pyo has been solid overall this season, he has not performed well against the Heroes. In 2 starts against Kiwoom, he has allowed 9 runs (8 earned) over 11.2 innings.

On the other side, Tyler Eppler has been inconsistent recently, allowing at least 3 runs in each of his last 5 starts and at least 4 or more runs in 2 of his last 3 starts. During this stretch, he has allowed a total of 18 runs (17 earned) over 18.1 innings. In 2 starts against the KT Wiz, he has allowed 7 earned runs over 10.2 innings. Based on the fact that both starters have struggled against each other and have both been lacking quality recently, backing the over will be the play.

LG Twins vs Samsung Lions – Over 9.5 runs (-112)

The total looks to be the better play because neither starter has been pitcher great as of recently. Lee Min-Ho has allowed 4 or more runs in 8 starts this season. In his last 3 starts, he has allowed 9 earned runs over 11.2 innings. In 4 starts against the Lions this season, he has allowed 14 earned runs over 19.2 innings.

On the other side, David Buchanan has allowed 4 or more runs in 5 starts this season. In his last 3 starts, he has allowed 10 runs (8 earned) over 13.1 innings. In 2 starts against the Twins this season, he has allowed 11 runs (10 earned) over 10.2 innings. Because both starters have really struggled when facing each other, backing the over will be the play for Sunday morning.

NC Dinos vs Lotte Giants – Under 7.5 runs (-102)

The total looks to be the better play for Sunday because both Drew Rucinski and Park Se-Woong have been in decent form recently. Rucinski has allowed 8 runs (5 earned) in his last 3 starts over 17.0 innings. He has been dominant against the Giants this season, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) over 12.0 innings in 2 starts against them.

On the other side, Se-Woong has allowed 13 runs (6 earned) in his last 3 starts over 16.1 innings. This stretch is slightly misleading because of the game where he allowed 6 runs that were all unearned. In his only start against the Dinos, he did not allow a run over 8.0 innings.

Because starters have had success against each other, and have had a few decent starts recently, backing the under will be the play on Sunday.

Extra KBO picks for Sunday, September 11

Doosan Bears ML (+118) over Kia Tigers

The Doosan Bears will start Brandon Waddell on Sunday morning, who has an ERA of 3.71. The Kia Tigers will counter with Yang Hyeon-Jong. Waddell has been a little more consistent recently, therefore backing the Bears will be the play.

SSG Landers  ML (-182) over Hanwha Eagles

The SSG Landers will start Kim Kwang-Hyun on Sunday, who has an ERA of 2.02. He also has an ERA of 1.29 against the Hanwha Eagles, therefore backing the SSG Landers will be the play.
