KBO picks and predictions

Sunday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Kia Tigers vs Samsung Lions – Under 8.5 runs (-118)

The total looks to be the better play based on the consistency of both starters. Albert Suarez has allowed 4 or more runs in 7 starts this season. In his last 4 starts, he has given up 7 earned runs over 27.1 innings. In 3 starts against the Tigers he has yielded 7 earned runs over 16.1 innings.

On the other side, Sean Nolin has allowed 4 or more earned runs in just 2 starts. In his last 4 starts he has surrendered 6 earned runs over 26.2 innings. In his only start against the Lions, he allowed 1 earned run over 5.2 innings. Because both starters have been consistent all year long and have solid track records against each other, backing the under will be the play.

KT Wiz ML over NC Dinos (-110)

The KT Wiz did not play on Saturday morning, so they are still 73-59-2 on the season and remain in 4th place in the league standings. The KT Wiz will start Um Sang-Back, who is 9-2 on and has an ERA of 3.21. In 31 appearances (20 starts) he has allowed 46 earned runs over 129.0 innings.

The NC Dinos lost to the Kia Tigers on Saturday morning by a score of 3-0. They are now 60-69-3 on the season and remain in 6th place in the league standings. The Dinos will counter with Matthew Dermody, who is 2-3 and has an ERA of 4.39. In 5 starts he has allowed 13 earned runs over 26.2 innings.

Dermody has not been terrible, but Sang-Back has been much more consistent. For that reason, backing the KT Wiz will be the play.

LG Twins vs SSG Landers – Under 8.5 runs (-132)

The total looks to be the better play given how dominant both starters have been this season. Adam Plutko has allowed 4 or more runs in 5 starts. In his last 4 starts he has given up 2 earned runs over 24.0 innings. In 3 starts against the SSG Landers he has allowed 4 earned runs over 19.0 innings.

On the other side, Shawn Morimando has surrendered 4 or more runs in just 2 starts this season. In his last 4 starts, he has allowed 7 earned runs over 25.0 innings. In his only start against the Twins, he did not allow a run over 6.0 innings. Because both starters have been dominant throughout the season and against each other, backing the under will be the play.
