MLB Monday same game parlay: Boston Red Sox vs. Houston Astros (+961)

Carlos Correa Astros

Although it feels like a Sunday, it’s Monday. Happy Memorial Day to you. I hope at some point today, you think about what this day actually means. When you are done, maybe bet a little baseball. After all, there are 14 games on the slate and ten of them are before 5:10pm ET. One of the day games that I’m on is the Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros at 4:10pm ET. After going through some numbers (and finding out it’s on ESPN), I tossed a little same game parlay out there. Why not?

Let’s take a look at the best options for this showdown and don’t forget to check out our full game preview for picks on the side and total. You can also follow me on Twitter for any other bets I might throw out throughout the day.

Carlos Correa to record 2+ hits (+260)

Taking a guy to get two or more hits in a game isn’t always fun but this one could work. Especially at +260. Correa was dreadful at the start of this month but he has slowly come around for the Astros and has recorded a hit in three of his last four games. In two of those games, he collected two hits. The guy is smashing at the moment. I never recommend looking into batter vs. pitcher numbers so I’m not even going to bring up the fact that he is 4-5 lifetime against Eduardo Rodriguez. But there is that too. I think Correa gets at least two hits today.

Carlos Correa to hit a home run (+410)

What fun is it to take a guy to get at least two hits if one isn’t a dinger? Correa has hit only eight on the year so we’re getting +410 on him, but there is reason to be optimistic. Over his last four games, he’s gone yard in two of them. He’s facing a guy in Rodriguez who’s given up seven HRs in only 48 innings pitched this season, so he’s ripe. With Correa coming into this one with a .636 ISO in his last 19 plate appearances (super small sample size), it’s not crazy to think he blasts one today.

Red Sox vs. Astros over 8.5 (-120)

If we have Correa hitting the cover off the ball, then why not take the over on such a small number? These teams are ranked one and three in MLB on the season in OPS. Rodriguez alone has given up 13 earned runs in his last 15 innings pitched. We already know Correa is taking him deep and he could possibly score again when he gets his second hit. Who knows, that could be a home run too? I’m not 100 percent confident in Jose Urquidy since he was just activated from the IR and hasn’t pitched in weeks. In two of his last four starts, he’s given up two home runs in two of them. I think these teams can combine for at least nine runs today.
