With plenty of MLB games taking place each day, one of the quickest bets you can make is if a run will be scored in the first inning. There is value to be had and this market has become very popular over time. If you don’t like sweating out your bets for 3 hours, this one will only take about 15 minutes. We’re on 46-28 run with our YRFI/NRFI picks, so let’s keep the momentum going!

Before we dive in, don’t forget to check out our MLB picks on the side and total for every game today. There are 2 YRFI/NRFI bets I like on Thursday, so let’s get right into it.

Minnesota Twins vs Tampa Bay Rays: NRFI (-130)

To start off with our NRFI selection on Thursday’s card, I’m going to back both pitchers in this Twins vs Rays matchup. Bailey Ober gets the ball for Minnesota, and that’s a good sign for the Twins. The right-hander has pitched to a 2.33 ERA this season, with just 12 ER allowed over his last 8 outings. He should see more success against Tampa Bay, a lineup that has not seen much of Ober to this point. On the other side, the Rays are countering with Tyler Glasnow, who got off to a rocky start against the Dodgers in his first outing since returning from injury. However, the right-hander responded nicely in his next outing against the Red Sox, allowing just 1 run and 4 hits while striking out 6 batters. I’d expect a similar performance at home in this one.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs Cincinnati Reds: YRFI (-125)

For our YRFI pick for Thursday’s slate, we’re going to Cincinnati for a matchup between the Dodgers and Reds. Los Angeles is getting another strong campaign from Clayton Kershaw, as the southpaw continues to defy expectations in the twilight years of his career. Through his first 12 starts of the campaign, Kershaw has surrendered just 25 earned runs and has 8 quality starts en route to an ERA of 3.25 on the season. However, he can be attacked in the first inning before he settles into the game, as has been the case throughout his career. On the other side, Graham Ashcraft has been horrendous over his last 6 starts, including 4 outings where he surrendered at least 7 runs. The top of the Dodgers lineup has been red-hot of late, and I expect that to continue in this one.
