With MLB Opening Day in the rearview mirror, we are off and running in this 2024 Major League Baseball season. Action on the diamond continues with a hefty 15-game slate on Monday. The games get underway with the Guardians taking on the Red Sox at 11:10 am ET and concludes with the Nationals taking on the Dodgers at 10:10 pm ET. And what better way to celebrate a full slate of baseball than with a mega parlay? That’s right, I’ve crafted a 3-leg MLB parlay for the action at +785 odds.  Below is my MLB mega parlay for Monday, and be sure to also check out all of our MLB picks for today’s action.

Dodgers alt run line -2.5 (-111)

Yankees ML (-108)

Diamondbacks -1.5 (+142)

MLB parlay odds: +785

For this parlay, I am going with a couple of run line wagers and a money line bet. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Los Angeles Dodgers alternate run line -2.5 over Washington Nationals (-111)

The Nationals recalled LHP Mitchell Parker – a fifth-round pick in the 2020 draft — for his major league debut, but he’ll have a tough task at hand when he takes on Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani and one of the best lineups in baseball. The Dodgers enter this game having dropped 3 of their past 4 outings, including 2 of 3 over the weekend to the division rival San Diego Padres. Therefore, I’m looking for this lineup to take out that frustration on the rookie southpaw. The Dodgers are 4-2 in 6 series openers so far this season, outscoring the opposition 38-25. Each of those victories have come by multiple runs, and each of the past 4 wins overall for Los Angeles have come by at least 2 runs. At this point, if you like the Dodgers to win, you should like them to get the job done by multiple runs, so we’ll take an alternate run line here.

New York Yankees ML over Toronto Blue Jays (-108)

The Yankees have been one of the best teams in baseball over the first couple of weeks of the season, and New York’s success should continue in this matchup against an AL East foe. Yankees starter Luis Gil has shown promise this season, boasting a 3.00 ERA and tallying 14 strikeouts in just 9 innings pitched. On the other side, the Blue Jays will turn to Chris Bassitt, who holds a 5.06 ERA with 17 strikeouts in 16 innings, having conceded 9 runs in that span. New York also has a significant edge at the plate, as the Yankees rank 10th in the league in batting average, hitting .252 with 19 home runs and an OPS of .759. Conversely, the Blue Jays are batting .232 with 14 home runs and an OPS of .681 on the season. Even on the road, I’ll back the better offense in this divisional matchup.

Arizona Diamondbacks -1.5 over Chicago Cubs (+142)

To close out our MLB mega parlay, I’m going with the Diamondbacks on the run line against the Cubs. While both offenses have been strong to this point in the season, we’re getting what appears to be a lopsided pitching matchup on Monday, and it looks like a good night to ride the home favorite. Merrill Kelly had a rough first outing for Arizona, but he has been nails since then, pitching to a 2.29 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP while working deep into games. Kelly will be opposed by Ben Brown, who has bounced around in the bullpen early on this season. Brown’s workload seems limited and he has yet to reach 5 innings in any outing this season, so I wouldn’t expect a ton of length from the long reliever. With the Diamondbacks swinging the bats well at home and the edge on the mound, it’s hard not to side with Arizona on the run line.
