The MLB season is officially in full swing, and it’s been long enough for us to more or less know where things stand. We’ve got a nice big slate on Tuesday, and one of the best games is this interleague clash between the Washington Nationals and Tampa Bay Rays. It should be a great one, broadcasted wide by FS1.

I’ve cashed several of these this season following a very similar format as this one, let’s do it again on Tuesday. What better way to celebrate a nationally televised game than by betting a same game parlay? We’ve also got thoughts on the side and total, which you can find out in our full game preview.

Washington Nationals -1.5 (+330)

Austin Meadows to record 2+ hits (+240)

Parlay odds: +1880

Keeping things simple with another two-leg parlay here, one which pays out north of 18/1 with FanDuel Sportsbook. We get a big odds boost by combining a Nationals win with a big game from Meadows, when I don’t think it conflicts much. Let’s break it down:

Washington Nationals -1.5 (+330)

This Nationals lineup is being underrated by both oddsmakers and the media. You’d never guess it based on their public perception, but the Nationals have the second-highest batting average in the National League. Interestingly, the Rays have been much better on the road than at home this year. Tampa is just 15-13 at home, but 23-10 on the road.

The Nats will start Jon Lester here. Lester appears to have shaken off the rust after missing the first month of the season with a back injury, and has now given up only one earned run in back to back starts. Rays starter Tyler Glasnow is a very good pitcher, but he certainly isn’t untouchable. In fact, he’s given up at least three earned runs in four of his past six outings.

Austin Meadows to record 2+ hits (+240)

Just because I think the Nationals are being undervalued here doesn’t mean Meadows can’t also have some success. Meadows enters this one riding a ten-game hitting streak and has recorded multiple hits in five of those games, so just blindly +240 seems appealing. But the matchup here is also very favorable. For starters, he seems to see Lester well.

In only six career at bats against Lester, Meadows has a double, a triple, and a home run. Even when Lester pitches well he still gives up a lot of hits, as evidenced by his 1.43 WHIP. Despite the fact that he’s never gone deeper than six innings this season, Lester has given up at least five hits in six of his seven outings.
