MLB Saturday same game parlay (+987 odds): Philadelphia Phillies vs New York Mets

Pete Alonso Phillies vs Mets

We’re getting a treat tonight when the New York Mets host the Philadelphia Phillies at 7:15 pm ET on FOX. It may not be the game that FOX thought they were getting when they scheduled it since the Mets aren’t in the playoff picture, but we can still bet it. That’s the good part about gambling. It doesn’t matter who’s playing; you can still bet the game. I’m thinking a 2-leg same game parlay for this one.

Before you read on, why not follow me on Twitter real quick? It makes sense. I don’t always have time to post articles on Pickswise, but that doesn’t mean you should miss them. I would actually hate it if you did.

Pete Alonso to hit a Home Run (+310) *alt line

Phillies vs Mets over 11.5 (+330) *alt line

Parlay odds: +987

Pete Alonso to hit a Home Run (+310) *alt line

The Phillies are in a fight for their playoff lives right now which means every game counts. They’re 2.5 games behind the Atlanta Braves for the NL East lead and the same amount of games behind the St. Louis Cardinals for a Wild Card spot. One reason they are in this spot is because of how bad Aaron Nola has been this season. He is supposed to be the ace of this staff and he looks like everything but that. In fact, over his last 14.1 innings of work he’s given up 12 earned runs. He’s going to give up a bomb tonight, it’s just a matter of who is going to hit it. Pete Alonso just hit one the other night plus he’s taken Nola yard 3 times in 27 career at bats against him. I’ll take +310 on that.

Phillies vs Mets over 11.5 (+330) *alt line

Bryce Haper Phillies vs Mets

The other thing about Nola is each of his last 4 starts have seen 9 or more runs scored by both teams. Two of those games have seen the 2 teams combine for 13 runs. I’ll admit that 12 runs is quite a bit in a baseball game but +330 on a total is pretty crazy too. Especially with Nola and Carlos Carrasco on the hill. Each of Carrasco’s last 2 starts have seen a combined run count of 13 so we could see plenty of offense tonight. Once Carrasco is gone, we’ll see the Mets bullpen that is sporting a 6.59 ERA over the last week. This one has a shot at being really fun and 12 runs feels like a bargain even though we’re getting +330 odds.
