Let’s break down each of the legs one by one.

Houston Astros -2.5 (+120) over Texas Rangers

To start off this mega parlay, we are going with the Houston Astros on the alternate run line. Putting aside the Astros’ terrific and complete team, their success starts and ends with Justin Verlander. Verlander is pitching at an extremely high level in what has been his best campaign in over a decade. The ace has a 1.73 ERA, along with a WHIP of just 0.85 this season. Verlander is currently the favorite for the AL Cy Young, and it’s no surprise given his excellence. The veteran has allowed 1 earned run or less in 9 of his last 11 outings, and I don’t expect that to change on Wednesday.

The same can’t be said of Rangers starter Glen Otto, who holds an xERA of 5.63, good for the bottom 4% in baseball. Otto’s xSLG and xWOBA are also near the bottom of all qualified starters. That won’t hold up well against an Astros lineup that consistently delivers against poor starting pitching. If Houston pounces early, it could be a terrible evening for the Rangers.

Baltimore Orioles ML (+130) over Toronto Blue Jays

For the second leg of our mega parlay, we are going with the Orioles on the money line. This game originally opened with the Orioles at +155, a bad line that was quickly hammered by sharps. They’ve already proven they can compete with the Blue Jays this season, and did so again by taking the series opener. Baltimore battled back to win on Tuesday, and the O’s have a good chance to sweep this crucial home series with Wednesday’s finale.

Baltimore quietly holds the best record in the American League since the all-star break. While that may not be the case for long, the fact remains that the O’s continue to outperform their betting market expectations. On the other hand, Toronto is transitioning from Manoah to putting Jose Berrios on the mound for this contest. Berrios has one glaring problem – inconsistency. He’ll toss a solid 7-inning start against the Tigers, before following that up by getting shelled by the Twins in just 3.2 innings. With Baltimore’s lineup continuing to impress and their stellar home record this season, the O’s can exploit Berrios for another poor start.

Miami Marlins ML (+112) over Philadelphia Phillies

For the final leg of our mega parlay, we are going with the Miami Marlins on the money line. The Marlins are typically a stay-away, and now they’re taking on the red-hot Phillies. However, they will have a massive starting pitcher advantage in this one. Sandy Alcantara is back on the mound for the Fish, and he continues to dazzle in 2022. The NL Cy Young frontrunner holds an ERA of 1.88 while averaging over 7.1 IP per start this season. He’ll have a challenge on his hands with Philadelphia, but the righty just went 8 innings against the Phillies on July 15. Expect another strong outing from Alcantara on Wednesday.

The hosts will counter with recent acquisition Noah Syndergaard, who isn’t nearly as consistent. The newest Phillie struggled against the Nationals in his last outing, surrendering 4 ER and 11 hits in 5 innings. Syndergaard’s stats have fluctuated mightily this season, but most of his advanced metrics aren’t pretty. With an xERA of 4.29, the right-hander is due for some regression and the Marlins should be able to tally a few runs off him. As long as Alcantara gets average run support, he should do enough to put the Marlins in a position to win.
