MLB Wednesday same game parlay (+989 odds): Seattle Mariners vs Houston Astros

Astros

Day baseball equals gambling. There’s just no way around it. Who are we to just change the rules? Embrace them. I’m bringing this up because today we have the Seattle Mariners and Houston Astros getting it on at 2:10pm ET on YouTube. If that doesn’t make you want to drop a little same game parlay, then I don’t know what will. Seriously, get yourself checked out if you don’t want to bet this game. Safety first over here at Pickswise.

Houston Astros -2.5 (+160) *alt line

Jose Urquidy 6+ strikeouts (+160)

Kyle Seager to record a hit (-260)

Parlay odds: +989

Houston Astros -2.5 (+160) *alt line

The sharp guys like the Mariners today and that’s fine with me. The Astros opened at -200 and are down to -186 at some shops even though they’ve taken in a majority of the tickets. I don’t think that will last. Bettors are going to come to their senses at some point and start backing the Astros. Tyler Anderson is going for the Mariners and to be fair, he’s been alright since coming to Seattle. The thing is, he’s beaten the Rangers twice and the Diamondbacks once. Yes he got a win against the Astros but he got lucky. Alex Bregman wasn’t in the lineup and he should be today. Batter vs pitcher stats don’t matter but Bregman has dominated Anderson in the past, hitting 2 dingers in just 6 at-bats against him. When Anderson is done he’ll yield to a Seattle bullpen that’s allowing opponents to hit .262  against them over the last week. This is the way.

Jose Urquidy 6+ strikeouts (+160)

We’re getting a pretty good price for this number and I think I know why. Urquidy has been pretty bad in his last 2 starts. After fanning at least 6 guys in 3 of 5 starts, he’s failed to hit the number in his last 2. That’s the bad news. The good news is, he looked a lot better in his last start against the San Diego Padres. True he whiffed only 4 guys, but he went only 4.1 innings. It made the disaster against the Baltimore Orioles the game before look more like a speed bump on Urquidy’s road to greatness. If Cal Raleigh is in the lineup for the Mariners (sorry Cal), this will get a boost. Even if he’s not, this is not a bad deal at +160.

Kyle Seager to record a hit (-260)

It’s time to be cool to the Mariners after saying they’ll lose by at least 3 runs and strike out at least 6 times. And for saying Cal Raleigh strikes out a lot even though it’s true, he strikes out a lot. One guy who should have a decent game is Kyle Seager. Over his last 4 games he’s had at least 1 hit in 3 of them. He’s also hit 3 dingers in that span but all we need him to do today is get a hit. Just 1 little, tiny hit. Seager is 3-8 in his career against Urquidy with a dinger and even though batter versus pitcher stats don’t matter, it’s worth noting. Given the way Seager is seeing the ball at the moment, this feels like a pretty safe add to the parlay.
