Dallas Mavericks 1-10 win margin over Memphis Grizzlies (+220)

Despite all the negativity around the Grizzlies and their best player Ja Morant, they’ve actually been really solid lately, winning 5 of their last 6 games. Their dominance at home continued even without Ja, as they’re currently on an 8-game win streak at FedEx Forum. However, I have a feeling that’s about to change tonight as the Mavs come to town. In the last 11 meetings, Dallas is 8-3 ATS, plus they’ve beaten Memphis 4 times in the last 6 head-to-head.

The Mavs’ road form is the only thing keeping them in 6th place right now, as they’ve covered in 7 of their last 10 games, and it’s also worth mentioning they’ve beaten 15 of their last 20 opponents from the Southwest Division. Luka Doncic will probably miss this one as he recovers from a thigh injury, but Kyrie Irving should be there after scoring 38 against the Lakers. It’s probably going to be a lower-scoring game, but with Memphis potentially missing Jaren Jackson Jr., I’ll give a slight edge to the Mavs here.

Desmond Bane to score 20+ points (-250)

Bane should have his way with Kyrie Irving tonight, as he’s scored 25 and 23 points in his last 2 games against the Mavericks, and as good as Irving is on offense, he is known for taking possessions off on the other end. With Morant already out, it looks like the Grizzlies could also be without Jaren Jackson Jr. here, which would mean the Grizz are missing 2 of their top 3 scorers and that opens the door for Bane to pick up the slack.

He’s scored over 20 points a total of 7 times in his last 10 games, while averaging 21.3 per game during that stretch. He’s shooting over 49% from the field which is really good for a player in his position. He is also a capable three-point shooter, knocking down 2.5 threes per game on over 38% shooting, against the Mavs he had 2 and 3 threes in the last 2 meetings. Consistency is on his side as well as the individual matchup against Irving. A big chunk of the Grizzlies’ hopes here lies with Bane and he should be able to deliver.

Dillon Brooks over 1.5 threes (-148)

Another player that should step up offensively is the universally most disliked player in the NBA right now, Dillon Brooks. As much as people dislike him, it’s hard to argue with his contribution to the Grizzlies both on offense as well as defense. He’s averaging 12.6 points per game over his last 10, but more importantly, he’s knocking down 2.6 threes a night on 37.7% efficiency. He’s been lighting it up over the last 4 games, scoring 4 threes in 3 of them, and one of those games was against the Mavericks.

Dallas is one of the better three-point defensive teams in the NBA, but on the road their percentage drops almost 3% when guarding the perimeter, with teams making 36.5% of their attempts (14th). Memphis has relied heavily on the three-ball in their last 3 games, scoring 18 of them twice and with JJJ out of the lineup they’ll be even more active from the perimeter, so I expect Brooks to get even more opportunities to knock down some shots. Making 2 threes should be an easy task for him.
