One of Wednesday’s more intriguing NBA games pits the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks against the visiting Charlotte Hornets. Both teams head into this one with 13 wins on the season. Let’s take a look at the best same game parlay option for Hornets vs Bucks, and also be sure to check out our full game preview for picks on the side and total.

Hornets +9 (-108)

Gordon Hayward over 15.5 points (-108)

Khris Middleton over 2.5 three-pointers made (+144)

Parlay odds: +681

Part of the value in same game parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is some of the plan here, as Gordon Hayward scoring a fair amount of points would obviously work well with a Charlotte cover. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. That is the case with tipping Khris Middleton to make a few threes, but even if that happens the Hornets should be able to stay competitive.

Hornets +9 (-108)

The Hornets are the top-scoring team in the league, but they are also getting let down by the NBA’s second-worst defense in terms of points allowed. In other words, this should be a fun one with plenty of fireworks. Charlotte has 4 guys averaging between 17 ppg and 21 ppg. Meanwhile, the Bucks have won 7 in a row and now find themselves only a half-game behind the Bulls in the Central Division. Against the spread, though, they are a modest 4-3 during this stretch. Milwaukee will probably extend its streak to 8, but the visitors have enough offensive weapons to hang around from start to finish.

Gordon Hayward over 15.5 points (-108)

As mentioned above, a ton of points figure to be scored in this one. The Hornets can fill it up on one end of the floor but don’t play any defense at the other end. It is also worth noting that Charlotte plays at the third-fastest pace in terms of possessions per game and Milwaukee is in the top 10 in the same department. Hayward is unlikely to be left out of the scoring party. The Bucks are third in the NBA in defending the 3-point line (31.7%) and 11th in defending the paint (43.9 points allowed). In other words, this is going to a mid-range kind of game for the Hornets and that is where Hayward excels. The veteran small forward’s 3 most recent point totals are 18, 21, and 22. His fine form has every reason to continue.

Khris Middleton over 2.5 three-pointers made (+144)

This is not a huge number for Middleton – especially not when you can get it at +144. The sharpshooter has has drained at least 3 triples in 3 of his last six games, including 4 successful long-distance dials last Friday against Denver. Charlotte is dead last in the league in opponents’ 3-pointers made over the past 3 games, allowing 48 total during this stretch. Middleton is more than capable of taking advantage.
