There’s just 3 games going on in the NHL, but we can still make it a profitable night. Three games is all we need to piece together a mega parlay with an incredible payout. We’ve targeted a different bet type for each of the games on the board as well. There’s also a cross-town rivalry and a rematch of just 4 days ago going on, so there’s plenty for us to break down. Before we dive in, be sure to check out our NHL picks for today’s action.

New York Islanders 3-way ML (+130) over New York Rangers

This is the first Battle of New York of the season, and it should be an exciting one. Although the Rangers were the superior team last year, the Islanders were able to defeat them in 2 of 4 meetings. They’ll only play 3 times this season, so the Isles have a real chance at winning the series this year. That’s because this first meeting will be with the Rangers on the second night of a back-to-back.

They’ll only have to travel down the road from Madison Square Garden, but they had a tough test last night. The Rangers had to take on the defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche. Therefore, it makes sense that they had starting goaltender Igor Shesterkin in net. With him unavailable for this matchup, the Islanders have a significant goaltender advantage with Ilya Sorokin. The Rangers have had a back-to-back already this season, and backup goalie Jaroslav Halak did not look good. They lost that game 4-1 to the Winnipeg Jets. Sorokin had the 2nd-best save percentage last season and can lead the Islanders to a win in regulation tonight.

St. Louis Blues ML (-105) over Edmonton Oilers

These teams just met on Saturday and had quite the surprising result. Not only did the Blues win the game, they shut out Connor McDavid and the Oilers. That’s almost unheard of with the caliber of offense on their roster, making that 2-0 win all the more impressive. On top of that, it was a game in Edmonton. Now the Blues get to welcome in the Oilers, and it’s off of a loss. St. Louis just suffered their first loss of the season to the Jets on the road, so you can be sure they’ll be out to shut down the Oilers once again.

Edmonton just had a big win against the Pittsburgh Penguins, but it wasn’t the prettiest victory either. McDavid got banged up, and they have yet to win back-to-back games this season. Worse yet, this will be the very first road game of the season for the Oilers. Even the best teams struggle with that, such as the Penguins losing to the lowly Montreal Canadiens in their first road game. Edmonton has already lost to the Buffalo Sabres at home, so the Blues on the road is a tough task.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs Anaheim Ducks – Over 6.5 (-105)

The nightcap for this 3-game slate is the Tampa Bay Lightning taking on the Anaheim Ducks. At first glance, most would immediately think the play is the Lightning on the puck line. There’s no doubt they’re the stronger team, but they too will be coming into this game having just played last night. Not to mention they are very far from home. After taking on the Los Angeles Kings last night, they’re in the middle of a west coast road trip.

That also means all-world goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy will not be in net for this game. The Ducks are considered the weaker opponent, so they used him against the Kings instead. However, that means Anaheim can contribute towards this total. It should only take a goal or 2, as the Lightning can take care of the rest. The Ducks have already allowed 7 goals in a game this season. That was to the Islanders, who are not known for their offense. Similarly, Tampa scored 5 goals against the Islanders, who are a defensive team. With Lightning backup goalie Brian Elliott allowing 6 goals in his first start this season, expect a high-scoring game out west.
