EPL pick today: Newcastle ML over West Ham (-160), 12:30 pm ET

West Ham possess one of the stronger squads of the EPL strugglers, but the Hammers’ road record has been poor and they could suffer a narrow defeat at Newcastle this afternoon. They eased some pressure with a 2-0 home win over Everton last week, but have taken just 5 points on the road all season and that is not a good sign when heading to Newcastle. The hosts have not lost in 14 games at St James’ Park this season, so for that reason, backing Newcastle to win will be the play.

College Basketball pick today: Auburn Tigers vs Tennessee Volunteers – Under 133.5 points (-110), 2:00 pm ET

Due to the strength of both defenses, the under is the bet to make in this game. Tennessee ranks first overall in KenPom’s adjusted defensive efficiency metric. Auburn’s defense is also quite good, ranking 21st overall.

One other stat in this matchup that is conducive to the under is Tennessee’s offensive free-throw rate against Auburn’s defensive free-throw rate. At times, Auburn has difficulty defending without fouling, as the Tigers rank dead last in the SEC in opponent free-throw rate. This can usually be damaging for an under, but Tennessee ranks last in the SEC in free-throw rate. For that reason, backing the under will be the play.

College Basketball pick today: Kansas State Wildcats +1.5 over Texas Longhorns (-118), 4:00 pm ET

One of the most important matchups in the country takes place this afternoon in Manhattan as the Kansas State Wildcats host the Texas Longhorns. The Longhorns sit alone atop the Big 12 standings, one game ahead of Kansas State and three other teams.

Texas is a veteran team, and they won’t likely get run out of the building, but they also don’t shoot the ball all that great from outside. That is a real problem against a team that plays as fast as Kansas State. They get up a ton of shots and force the pace, and that has never been more evident than it was in the first meeting between these two teams. That game ended 116-103 . . . in regulation! That likely will not happen again, but there is no reason to not back Kansas State at home.

College Basketball pick today: North Carolina Tar Heels vs Duke  Blue Devils – Over 144.5 points (-110), 6:30 pm ET

North Carolina likes to play at a fast tempo, as they rank 66th in average offensive possession length, per KenPom. If they can get the tempo to their liking, it actually could subsequently benefit Duke.

Duke ranks just 240th in average offensive possession length but they score 1.09 points per possession in transition offense. North Carolina ranks just 240th in effective field goal percentage allowed in transition this season, so Duke should be able to score in the open court. With this being a rivalry game that could go back and forth, placing your bet on the over looks to be the best option.
