We have a massive 12-game slate this Wednesday in the NBA. We have 6 teams on a back-to-back and quite a few interesting storylines in the matchups. The Bucks and Pacers run back their battle from the In-Season Tournament semifinals, while the Clippers square off against the Suns in what we hope will include Paul George, James Harden, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard and Russell Westbrook suiting up. Lastly, we get a rematch of the bubble NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers.

You can get our NBA picks for those matchups, but for now, let’s dive into my favorite NBA player prop bet of the night.

Scottie Barnes (TOR) over 8.5 rebounds (-128)

Line available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett’s first game as members of the Raptors was generally a success. The Raptors won by 3 against the Cavaliers and the starting five had its moments. One thing that stood out to me was Jakob Poeltl playing a season-high 37 minutes. I want to attribute this largely to the presence of Jarrett Allen and we see those minutes dip off. The lineup I’m excited to see for Toronto is Quickley, Barrett, Trent Jr., Siakam and Barnes, where they all go small. I think Wednesday night is that opportunity against the Memphis Grizzlies on a back-to-back. In that scenario, Barnes should be playing heavily in the frontcourt and in an opportune position to grab rebounds.

In one game with Barrett and Quickley, Barnes had 12 rebound chances and that was with Poeltl playing those 37 minutes. If we pull Poeltl down to the 28-30 minute mark that he’s used to, Barnes’ potential should shoot back up to the 14-15 range. He’s averaging 9.4 rebounds per game on the road and gets a slight minutes boost when traveling (+1.4 minutes). The Grizzlies rank 27th overall in opponent rebounds per game on the season and rank 29th over their last 10 games. I’m playing his main line for 1u and going with the below ladder strategy. This is better value than his double-double at +110 considering the ball is out of his hands more with Barrett and Quickley getting acclimated.

Scottie Barnes rebounds ladder

1 unit on over 8.5 rebounds (-128)
0.75 unit on 10+ rebounds (+120)
0.5 unit on 12+ rebounds (+290)
0.25 unit on 14+ rebounds (+650)
