College basketball pick today: Marquette Golden Eagles vs Connecticut Huskies – Over 147.5 points (-106), 6:30 pm ET

The over is the best in this game, as both teams should be able to score efficiently against each other. Marquette’s offense needs very little introduction considering it ranks 4th nationally in KenPom’s adjusted offensive efficiency.

UConn should be able to dominate at the rim, ranking in the 90th percentile in points per possession at the rim according to Synergy, while Marquette ranks in just the 56th percentile in rim defense. UConn also should generate second-chance opportunities given their ranking of 10th in offensive rebounding rate. Meanwhile, Marquette ranks 270th in defensive rebounding rate. The prior meeting between Marquette and UConn closed with the total at 148 and the game finished with 158 points. For that reason, backing the over will be the play.

NBA pick today: Phoenix Suns -5.5 over Brooklyn Nets (-110), 7:30 pm ET

Tough days are ahead for the Brooklyn Nets, who lost 124-116 to the LA Clippers last night. Cam Thomas once again flourished with 47 points, but with Kyrie Irving traded away and Kevin Durant and Ben Simmons both out injured, they lack any real talent to be competitive against upper-tier teams and the Phoenix Suns are exactly that.

Since the return of Chris Paul, the Suns have gone on a solid run of 8-2 SU/ATS in their last 10 games. They’ve covered in 6 of 8 road games, and are 6-1 ATS in 7 against Eastern Conference opponents. The Suns are more rested, the stability is back with Paul in the lineup, plus they are adding a 25+ points per game scorer in Devin Booker for a much-needed offensive boost. For that reason, backing the Suns to cover will be the play.

NHL pick today: Seattle Kraken ML over New York Islanders (-108), 7:30 pm ET

Since the calendar flipped to 2023, Seattle’s 11-3-1 record is tied with the Boston Bruins for the 2nd-best in the NHL. In that time, the Islanders have the 4th-worst record. It doesn’t look set to get any better even with New York saving starting goaltender Ilya Sorokin for this game.

The Kraken have scored 4.3 goals per game on the road this season. They have already defeated the Islanders 4-1 as well, therefore backing them to win tonight will be the play.

College basketball pick today: NC State Wolfpack +6.5 over Virginia Cavaliers (-102), 9:00 pm ET

The North Carolina State Wolfpack (19-5, 9-4) will take their 4-game winning streak on the road to Charlottesville to play the Virginia Cavaliers (17-4, 9-3) tonight. The Cavaliers are 0-3 ATS after a straight-up loss and 6-10-1 ATS as a favorite, yet they are laying 7 points against a North Carolina State offense that takes care of the ball and has multiple scoring threats.

Kevin Keatts has had success against Tony Bennett recently, going 3-1 straight up against Virginia since 2021 with the lone loss by 7 points exactly. Look for North Carolina State to continue its success against Virginia and keep this game close throughout due to its ability to score at all levels and take care of the ball.
