Underdogs Who Could Win the NCAAB Championship
Each season there seems to be a Cinderella team in college basketball that makes a deep run in the NCAA tournament. This season there will be one, and to help narrow down that list, I’ve narrowed down the list to five teams I like that are under the radar. These cinderella teams will pop up throughout our College Basketball Picks so keep a close eye on where they finish. This article will examine the top College Basketball Picks for underdogs that could win theCollege Basketball National Championship.
Memphis Tigers (+8000)
The Memphis Tigers under John Calipari were one of the top teams in college basketball. Kansas vs. Memphis National Championship game doesn’t seem that long ago; however, it has been over a decade since that game. The Tigers team this season has a chance to make a deep run as they had the best signing class last season and could be a surprise team to make it to the championship game.
Saint Mary’s (+30000)
The Saint Mary’s Gaels have one of the most experienced teams in college basketball this season. The Gaels also enter the season rank 20th in college basketball after a season in which they finished 22-12 but were eliminated early in the NCAA tournament. Saint Mary’s has the tournament experience and the hunger to make it further this season, which will help them this season.
Every season the Gonzaga Bulldogs are in the hunt for the National Championship. However, despite always finishing with one of the best regular-season records, they generally struggle in the tournament. However, this season may be different as they have two of the top players in college basketball in Admon Gilder, who transferred from Texas A&M, and Killian Tillie, who will be one of the best big men in the country. This team could surprise and make it to the championship game this season.
As mentioned in our free college basketball picks earlier in the week, I expect the Xavier Musketeers to be one of the best teams this season. Xavier returns their top four scorers from last season’s team, and they added KyKy Tandy. Tandy is going to be one of the best freshmen this season in college basketball, and I think he can lead Xavier to the championship.
Utah State (+20000)
The Utah State Aggies were one of the better teams in college basketball last season despite an early exit in the tournament. This season the Aggies bring back the Mountain West Conference player of the year, Sam Merill, who has the Senior experience and leadership to make this one of the best Utah State teams in school history.
