World Cup pick today: France ML over Morocco (-180), 2:00 pm ET
Not since 1962 has a team retained the World Cup, but France is a step closer to doing so after booking a place in the semifinals in Qatar by beating England 2-1 on Saturday.
France is more proficient in the offensive third than Spain or Portugal and has superior game management. Head coach Didier Deschamps has been here before with a similar crop of players, beating Croatia in the 2018 World Cup final in Russia, and it would be no surprise to see Les Bleus go the distance again.
France’s added quality in both boxes, coupled with their superior experience of knockout football should give the favorites the edge, therefore backing France to win will be the play.

NHL pick today: Minnesota Wild 3-Way ML over Detroit Red Wings (-160), 7:30 pm ET
Detroit is certainly a stronger team than it was last season but still not in the best shape to take advantage of the Wild. Although the Red Wings added guys like David Perron and Andrew Copp during the offseason, trying to keep pace with Minnesota is much easier said than done. For example, Detroit recently faced another high-powered offense in the Florida Panthers. The Wings lost that game 5-1, and lost the following matchup to the Dallas Stars. Those are worth mentioning as they were both on the road. Now they have to travel to Minnesota after having played against a tough Carolina Hurricanes team the night before. Given the back-to-back situation, the Wild look to be the right side in this matchup.

College basketball pick today: UCLA Bruins +1.5 over Maryland Terrapins (-110), 9:00 pm ET
As the home side, Maryland is a slight favorite over UCLA. How you feel about that probably depends on what you thought about the teams coming into the season, as the Bruins were considered a top-20 team, while the Terrapins have earned their rankings through their results.
Maryland could very well be a sleeper in the Big Ten, but tonight looks to be a tough spot for them because UCLA is the more talented group with guys like Jaime Jacquez Jr. UCLA have experienced players who can lead them to a win in a close game on the road. For that reason, backing the Bruins will be the play.

NBA pick today: Dallas Mavericks -2 over Cleveland Cavaliers (-110), 9:10 pm ET
At just 5-9 SU in 14 road games this season, the Cavaliers are a very different team compared to when they are playing at home. They just lost to 1 of the worst teams in the league, the San Antonio Spurs, 112-111. With their confidence taking a big hit, they now head to Dallas to face one of the elite home teams in the West. Cleveland has just 1 win in 8 meetings with the Mavs dating back to the 2017-18 season.
Losing to the Spurs was a bad look for Cleveland, and this team just isn’t the same when playing away from home. The Cavs are unlikely to contain Luka Doncic, so backing the Mavs to cover will be the play.
