Welcome to another wonderful week of sports, Pickswise Nation! There’s a solid MLB slate tonight, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better!

About Last Night

Super Sunday of baseball picks
The Pickswise MLB team finished the weekend with a flourish, going 10-5 on ML/RL picks and 9-6 on totals plays on Sunday’s slate. We cashed our Sunday MLB parlay (Dodgers -1.5, Rangers ML, Padres ML) too at +509 odds! The Braves left it late, but beat the Diamondbacks 1-0 in the bottom of the 9th, while the Royals upset the Yankees 8-6. The Mets beat the Marlins 9-3 to complete a sweep and the Giants shut out the Cubs 4-0 on Sunday Night Baseball.

Great wins in golf and tennis
Tony Finau won the PGA Tour’s Rocket Mortgage Classic having been Diane Knox Balas’ pick for the tournament at 14/1! And Ricky Dimon cashed a +700 winner in the Atlanta Open tennis with Alex De Minaur. You can check out his picks for this week’s men’s and women’s tournaments in Washington D.C.

Today’s Slate

Solid 10-game Monday MLB slate
There’s no early action in the MLB today, but we have a 10-game slate this evening, with Mariners vs Yankees on ESPN+ at 7:05 pm ET and Red Sox vs Astros on ESPN at 8:00 pm ET. You can read our previews for all today’s MLB games.

Best Bet of the Day

MLB: New York Mets -1.5 vs Washington Nationals
7:05 pm ET

Patrick Corbin starts for the Nationals today. He has been horrific this season and his advanced metrics are even worse. The lefty has a 6.49 ERA while ranking in the 4th percentile for xERA through 105.1 innings. Corbin has allowed 21 runs on 32 hits in his last 16.2 innings. That makes for an ERA north of 10 in his last 4 starts, and he will go up against a lineup that has smashed him already this season. As if the cards weren’t already stacked against the Nationals, they will face Max Scherzer. The veteran was sidelined for all of June with an injury, but he has been incredible since returning with a 1.39 ERA and a 0.84 WHIP in 5 starts. This game has all the makings of a blowout win for the Mets. Check out our full Mets vs Nationals preview.
