Good morning Pickswise Nation and welcome to Wise n’ Shine, your one-stop shop for everything you need to know to bet better today!

What an amazing weekend of sports that was and Monday is going to treat us to an NFL game and four baseball playoff matchups too. Let’s get straight into it!

About Last Night

NFL team cash same game parlays on a wild and long day of NFL
Sunday of Week 5 of the 2021 NFL season started at 9:30am ET with the kickoff of Jets vs Falcons in London and ended well after midnight ET after a weather delay in the Sunday Night Football spectacular between the Chiefs and Bills. In between, we had countless missed kicks and even a team throwing an opposing player into the endzone for the winning touchdown! In among the madness, our NFL handicappers cashed big-odds same game parlays on Titans-Jaguars (+1122 odds) and the Dolphins-Bucs (+1191 odds), plus cashing on the Packers-Bengals game (via a push on the spread). Check out all the news from Sunday’s events in Ricky Dimon’s review of what we saw in Week 5.

MLB handicappers go 2-0 on Sunday
A pair of Sox money line picks (Boston ML and Chicago WS ML) gave the Pickswise team a 2-0 Sunday and lifted our overall playoffs total to 9-3. The Red Sox lead the Rays 2-1 and can clinch by winning Game 4 today, while the White Sox stayed alive after losing their first two games with the Astros. Boston is now at +600 odds for the World Series, behind only the Dodgers (+240) and Astros (+310) with FanDuel Sportbook.

Today’s Slate

Ravens out to impress
Monday Night Football has a lot to live up to after Sunday’s drama but the Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts provide tonight’s entertainment, with the Ravens aiming to show they also deserve to be in the fight for the AFC title (ESPN, 8:15pm ET). Check out our full preview of the game here.

Four MLB playoff games
Monday is usually the quietest day of the week in the MLB regular season, but that’s not the case in the playoffs with two afternoon and two night games, from Brewers-Braves (TBS, 1:07pm) through to Giants-Dodgers at 9:37pm ET (TBS). Read our picks for all today’s baseball here.

Best Bet of the Day

Baltimore Ravens -6.5 vs Indianapolis Colts
8:15pm ET, ESPN

The Colts aren’t one of the worst teams in the league right now, but they are playing like it. Their offensive line is a mess without Quenton Nelson and Braden Smith as they’ve already given up double-digit sacks on the season. Baltimore isn’t sporting the same defense from the Ray Lewis days but they are very good. Right now they rank 12th in total defense (DVOA) in the NFL and that defense was on display last week against Denver. Read our same game parlay for tonight’s game.

Must-watch

Start your week the right way by watching our daily show Let’s Bet It! with regular hosts Jared Smith, Lauren Jbara, and Alex Glaze. Check it out at our YouTube channel at:youtube.com/c/Pickswise later today as the team break down the day’s best bets, and look ahead to the rest of the sports betting week.

Must-read

We’ve got you covered if you couldn’t stay up for the late finish to Sunday Night Football. Andrew Ortenberg looks into what we learned from Buffalo’s 38-20 win over Kansas City. You won’t want to head into a 4-game MLB card without our Monday mega parlay, while we’re also looking ahead to next weekend with Jared Smith assessing the early lines for the NFL and College Football.

Be sure to head over to the Analysis tab for even more great betting content.

Stat of the Day

The game total has gone under in the Ravens’ last 8 meetings with the Colts, and in 12 of the last 13.

Boost of the Day

Jonathan Taylor to record 75+ rushing yards

Colts running back Jonathan Taylor had 103 rushing yards against Miami last week and DraftKings Sportsbook has boosted the odds of him recording 75+ rushing yards in tonight’s game from +205 to +230.
