Week 1 of the 2026 NFL regular season is upon us, with two games already in the rearview mirror and now a full Sunday slate to enjoy. It includes Bucs vs Bengals, Ravens vs Colts, Bills vs Texans and Sunday Night Football between the Cowboys and Giants.

Here are my best anytime touchdown scorer bets for Week 1 and also check out our expert NFL picks and NFL predictions for all 16 Week 1 games and every matchup throughout the entire season!

NFL Week 1 touchdown scorer bet: David Montgomery, RB, HOU (-105)

Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing

Following three sets in Detroit splitting carriers with Jahmyr Gibbs, Montgomery is the undisputed workhorse running back in Houston. Nick Chubb has retired and Joe Mixon was released after missing all of 2025 with a foot injury. Woody Marks will get some carries again, but Montgomery is the man for the Texans. Even when he was a borderline second fiddle to Gibbs with the Lions, the Iowa State product was a touchdown machine. He found the endzone 13 times in 2023, 12 times in 2024 and eight times in 2025. Montgomery should get off to a strong start for his new team with Buffalo as its Week 1 opponent. The Bills were #28 against the run last season, #30 in yards per rush allowed and gave up the most rushing touchdowns (24).

NFL Week 1 touchdown scorer bet: De’Von Achane, RB, MIA (+115)

Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing

Achane has scored 11, 12 and 12 touchdowns (rushing and receiving combined) over the past three seasons. The former Texas A&M standout could be even more of a focal point for Miami’s offense this year with Malik Willis now calling the shots under center. Willis clearly has some talent and impressed in limited work with the Packers, but to say that he is inexperienced as an NFL starter would be a gross understatement. Expect significant volume for Achane against the Raiders, whom he should have no trouble torching on Sunday. Las Vegas surrendered the third-most rushing touchdowns in the league (22) last season.

NFL Week 1 touchdown scorer bet: Carnell Tate, WR, TEN (+290)

Odds courtesy of Bet365 Sportsbook at time of publishing

As bit of a longshot play, Tate has good value to start his NFL career with a bang. The #4 overall pick out of Ohio State immediately becomes WR1 in Tennessee for second-year quarterback Cam Ward. Tate, who scored nine TDs for the Buckeyes last year, will start with a favorable matchup against the Jets on Sunday. New York allowed a ridiculous 36 touchdowns through the air in 2025, the most in the entire NFL. Head coach Aaron Glenn’s squad has newcomer Minkah Fitzpatrick at safety, but the secondary will otherwise once again be terrible in all likelihood. Count on the Ward-to-Tate connection getting off on the right foot.
