Through six weeks, the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-5) led the AFC North with a 4-1 record and held a substantial lead over the Baltimore Ravens, who were 1-5. One month later, the Ravens have pulled into a tie for first place by winning five consecutive games, while the Steelers have dropped four of the past six contests. QB Aaron Rodgers did not practice on Wednesday and said he is not ready to take a snap under center, as he is dealing with a left wrist injury. He sat out last Sunday’s 31-28 loss at Chicago as Mason Rudolph threw for 171 yards in place of Rodgers.

The Buffalo Bills (7-4) are in danger of not winning a sixth straight AFC East title. Buffalo enters Week 13 sitting 2.5 games behind surprising New England, as the Bills lost their second game in three weeks last Thursday at Houston. Following an impressive 44-32 shootout victory over Tampa Bay in Week 11, the Bills fell short on the road against the Texans in a 23-19 defeat as 5.5-point favorites. After scoring a touchdown to take a quick 6-0 lead, Buffalo posted one more touchdown the rest of the game on a kickoff return for a score. QB Josh Allen was intercepted twice for the second straight game as the Bills slipped to 1-3 in their last four road outings.

Pittsburgh is 3-2 at Acrisure Stadium with the two losses coming to Seattle and Green Bay, both who will likely be playoff teams. The Steelers defeated the Colts in Week 9 as three-point home underdog, 27-20, but head coach Mike Tomlin’s team is 2-3 against the spread in the underdog role. Buffalo knocked out Pittsburgh in the opening round of the 2023 playoffs, 31-17 as 10-point home favorites. The Bills are making their first trip to Pittsburgh since 2019, trying to avoid their second two-game losing streak of the season. Both these AFC teams have been uneven in their total numbers this season. Buffalo is 6-5 to the Under, while Pittsburgh is 6-5 to the Over. The Steelers hit the Over in five of the first seven games before finishing Under the total in three straight contests. Pittsburgh drilled the Over in last Sunday’s 31-28 loss at Chicago on a 47 total in QB Mason Rudolph’s first start of the season.

Rudolph is expected to start once again in Week 13 when the Bills come to the Steel City in place of Aaron Rodgers, who is still dealing with a left wrist injury. The Bills are 4-1 to the Under on the road, capped off by the 23-19 loss at Houston in Week 12 on a 44.5 total. Buffalo has been limited to 19 or less points in three of the last four road games, but the Bills also dropped 40 points at Carolina in Week 8. In spite of some inconsistent offensive outputs recently, the Bills rank third in the league in yards per game at 381.8.

The Steelers have seen issues on the defensive side, allowing at least 30 points in five games. Pittsburgh gave up 30+ points in each of the first two weeks against the Jets and Seahawks, then yielded at least 30 points in back-to-back losses to the Bengals and Packers. The Steelers will hope to avoid a third instance of allowing this amount of points in consecutive games after the Bears scored 31 points last Sunday. Pittsburgh ranks 28th in the league in yards allowed per game, in spite of allowing 330 yards to Chicago. Look for Buffalo’s offense to get on track here and these squads to hit the Over in Pittsburgh.
