Welcome to one of the most up-for-grabs men’s singles Grand Slams since the beginning of the Big Three era (Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic). After their dominance ended, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner almost immediately assumed the mantle. At the 2026 U.S. Open, however, Alcaraz (wrist) is playing for the first time in more than four months and Sinner (knee) is not even playing. Who will take advantage of a massive opportunity? Let’s take a look at the U.S. Open outright odds and discuss some of the best bets to make in the men's singles tournament. You can also find out my US Open women's singles futures picks, which features predictions at +500, +1500 and +3500 odds!

U.S. Open Men's Singles Best Bet: Taylor Fritz to win the U.S. Open (+1400)

Perhaps no one will benefit more from this open door than the American contingent. Seemingly for the first time since Andy Roddick at the 2003 U.S. Open, an American man has a legitimate chance to win one of the big ones. Based on his own form and his draw, Fritz is probably the leader of that pack in New York.

The world #10 finds himself in a decidedly weaker top half of the bracket opposite Alcaraz, Djokovic, Ben Shelton, Arthur Fils and Frances Tiafoe. Fritz would not even have to go up against Felix Auger-Aliassime until the quarterfinals and Zverev until the semis. The 28-year-old is a former U.S. Open finalist (lost to Sinner in 2024), and he has reached at least the quarterfinals in three consecutive appearances.

U.S. Open Men's Singles Longshot Pick: Frances Tiafoe to win the U.S. Open (+6600)

Tiafoe may not be as reliable as Fritz, but don’t sleep on him – especially not at +6600 odds. The U.S. Open has always been Tiafoe’s favorite tournament. He is a two-time semifinalist and also reached the quarters in 2023. The world #12 heads into this year’s installment with a ton of momentum after finishing runner-up in Cincinnati.

Moreover, Tiafoe’s draw is not bad one – even though he is in the more difficult bottom half. His nearest top-eight seed is Daniil Medvedev, who is mired in a big slump. Tiafoe would not meet Djokovic until the quarterfinals and Alcaraz until the semis. Both guys might lose before those stages.

U.S. Open Men's Singles Prediction: Arthur Fils to win the U.S. Open (+1300)

Fils’ first-round matchup jumps off the page, as he is going up against two-time Grand Slam finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas. However, the current version of Tsitsipas is a shadow of his former self – struggling down at #53 in the rankings.

Assuming Fils takes care of business , he could go all the way – just as he did in Cincinnati. Yes, the 22-year-old Frenchman is coming off the biggest title of his career after beating Tiafoe in the final last weekend. The world #11 also reached the quarters in Montreal, so the sample size of his recent success is large.
