The Chicago Cubs are on a 4-game losing skid with only 13 total hits as a team in that span, the worst hitting stretch for the organization since 1920. Ben Brown (1.82 ERA, 0.91 WHIP) takes the bump looking to get the Cubs back on track, but he faces a tall task against the Braves’ lineup. Atlanta is the first team to reach 30 wins in MLB this season and has been rolling through right-handed pitchers, posting the top wRC+ mark (125) in the league vs RHP as well as the top BA and wOBA..

Brown has yet to go deeper than 4.0 innings this season, meaning the Cubs’ average bullpen will be a relevant factor in this one. On the flip side, Chris Sale (2.20 ERA, 0.88 WHIP) starts for Atlanta, a veteran lefty sitting in the 96th percentile in pitching run value through 8 starts in 2026. Sale has been incredible, but this is potentially the best lineup he’s faced all season. Despite the recent woes at the plate, Chicago still maintains the top wRC+ (126), OBP and wOBA against left-handed pitching in MLB this season. With all things considered, I’ll back the offenses to show up in an ideal spot for both sides and take the over.
