Detroit Tigers vs Boston Red Sox Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 04/20/26

The Boston Red Sox will be hosting the Detroit Tigers for the annual Boston Marathon matinee game. The Tigers come into this game playing some very good baseball, riding a two-game winning streak and winners in eight of their last ten games. This is the series finale and the Tigers have won two of the first three games. The Red Sox offense has been sluggish to begin the 2026 season. In four of their last five games, they have scored two or fewer runs and they were shutout once. Jack Flaherty will be on the mound for the Tigers and he has been good in his last two outings. Each lasting longer than 5.2 innings, only allowing one earned run and striking out six or more batters. It is the opposite for Sonny Gray who is getting the start for the Red Sox. His last outing ended early at only 4.0 innings where he gave up nine hits, five earned runs and two home runs.

The Red Sox are not playing good enough baseball to be the favorites in this game. With the Tigers being underdogs, and their recent stretch of good baseball, I will be jumping on the value. Give me the Tigers in this one.
