Detroit Tigers vs New York Mets Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 05/13/26

Framber Valdez (4.57 ERA, 1.41 WHIP) returns from a five-game suspension, getting the nod against the New York Mets fresh off a rough performance with 10 runs allowed (7 ER) in just 3.0 innings of work against Boston. It’s tough to rely on Valdez after his recent antics and performances just as it is tough to rely on New York starter Christian Scott (3.27 ERA, 1.18 WHIP) for vastly different reasons.

Scott has only pitched 11.0 innings this season. While he’s posted a respectable 3.30 xERA throughout that span, a 5.73 BB/9 is somewhat concerning along with a .217 BABIP which is well below league average and would suggest slight regression is in store for the righty. After these squads combined for 12 runs in the series opener on Tuesday, I’ll back another high-scoring affair and take the over.
