Los Angeles Angels vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 05/13/26

The Los Angeles Angels and Cleveland Guardians finish a series on Wednesday afternoon as the Guardians go for a series sweep. The Angels have been struggling for the past month, losing all but one series. The Guardians have been treading water and playing right around .500 baseball all season. Both teams are in the bottom half of the league in scoring, and that has been their biggest problem. Both send lefties to the mound on Wednesday, and both teams actually hit lefties well, so this game is not an obvious pick. Still, I am going with the Guardians as the Angels continue to struggle.

It will be Reid Detmers vs Parker Messick on the mound. Messick is a rookie lefty with a high K rate, and that should play well against the Angels. Detmers is also a power arm with enormous strikeout potential, but the problem in this matchup is that the Guards boast the 3^rd lowest K rate in the league. They will likely fan more in this matchup than in most, but if Detmers cannot pile up tons of Ks, he is likely to give up some damage. The Angels also have the 3^rd worst bullpen ERA in baseball, which is a concern. Let’s back the Guardians in this spot.
