The Chicago White Sox continue to impress this season, defeating the Minnesota Twins in the series opener on Monday to move back over .500. Chicago had lost 3 of their past 4 games before that result, but they have been staying in the playoff race overall, sitting in second in the American League Central just 3.5 games back of the Cleveland Guardians.

With the loss on Monday night, the Twins are hoping for a bounce-back effort to avoid falling another game back of the White Sox, and they’ll get as good a chance as they’ll have all series with Joe Ryan taking the mound. Despite Minnesota’s struggles this season, Ryan remains the ace of their staff and the picture of consistency, allowing just one earned run over six innings in three consecutive starts.

Things haven’t been going as well for White Sox starter Sean Burke. His last start was a solid 4.2-inning outing with just two earned runs, but he had allowed 10 earned runs over 8.2 innings in his two starts prior. There have been some good outings mixed in for Burke this season, but he has been far too inconsistent to trust him over Ryan. Take the Twins to even this series on the arm of Ryan on Tuesday.
