New York Mets vs Seattle Mariners Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 06/02/26

The New York Mets look to rebound after suffering a 3-2 loss in Seattle in extra innings in Monday’s series opener. The Mets held a slim 2-1 lead into the seventh-inning stretch, but the Mariners tied the game in the bottom of the frame, before walking it off in the 10th inning thanks to a Cole Young RBI single. As such, the Mariners have won a season-high seven games in a row, as they have crept to the top of the American League West standings over the Texas Rangers by 2.5 games. The Mariners are now 18-15 at home, while the Mets slipped into the basement of the NL East again, 14 games off the pace. They’re also just 11-19 on the road this season.

The Mets turn to RHP Jonah Tong as the late substitution as opener. He started five games last season, going 2-3 with a 7.71 ERA and 1.77 WHIP, so the Mariners have to be licking their chops about the possibility of him getting the nod. The Mariners counter with RHP Logan Gilbert, who has posted a 3-4 record, 3.69 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. Those are decent numbers, despite the poor win-loss record, but he has struggled at home, allowing 10 of his 11 homers. Teams are hitting 75 points higher against him in Seattle, too, than on the road. Still, the Mariners are heating up, so perhaps he’ll get the job done. We’ll side with Seattle at home despite his surprising struggles, but go a little lighter just because of his awful splits.
