Yankees vs Brewers Pickswise Expert Predictions

Money Line Pick
NY Yankees Win(-125)

The New York Yankees bullpen couldn’t hold on last night against the Brewers, losing 4-3 in extra innings. Today, the Yankees will look to avoid being swept by Milwaukee when they send Carlos Rodon to the mound, who’ll be making his first start of the season. In 3 minor-league rehab starts, Rodon had a 3.38 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 16 strikeouts in 16 innings. In his last outing, he got up to 85 pitches, giving up 5 earned runs on 7 hits. For the Brewers, they’ll send Logan Henderson to the mound, who is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA through 2 starts.

There are a lot of questions surrounding Rodon and how he’s going to perform in his first start back. The lefty was dominant last season, going 18-9 with a 3.09 ERA, but his last minor league start could raise some red flags. Fortunately for Rodon, the Brewers are 26th in batting average against lefties this year.

In this series, the Brewers have done a terrific job at limiting runs, but I think that changes today. Spencer Jones needs to settle down at the plate after being called up, and the Yankees will also need Ben Rice and Aaron Judge to get going to help take pressure off this offense. Henderson hasn’t been dominant in his first 2 starts, so the Yankees should be able to rally behind Rodon in this matchup and avoid being swept on the road.

Yankees vs Brewers prediction: NY Yankees ML (-125) at time of publishing. Playable up to -135.
