Giants vs Dodgers Pickswise Expert Predictions

Run Line Pick
LA Dodgers -1.5(+120)

The Los Angeles Dodgers managed to snap their 4-game losing streak last night as they blanked the San Francisco Giants 4-0. Today, they’ll look to even the series at 2 a piece before kicking off a 9-game road trip. Taking the mound for the Dodgers will be Emmet Sheehan, who is 2-1 with a 4.79 ERA and 1.35 WHIP through 7 starts this season. For the Giants, Landen Roupp enters at 5-3 with a 3.09 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and has struck out 51 in 43.2 innings pitched.

In the Giants last 10 games, they’re averaging 4 runs per game while batting .238, and the Dodgers are nearly identical — averaging 4.1 runs per game and hitting .238 in that same span. This isn’t what we’re used to seeing from this Dodgers lineup, and it’s only a matter of time before they heat up.

While Sheehan hasn’t been fantastic this season, and given the Giants inconsistencies at the plate, I’m siding with the Dodgers in this one. Sheehan has been terrific against San Francisco in his career, going 1-0 with a 0.82 ERA and striking out 25 in 22 innings pitched. While Roupp has been slightly better this year, he’s struggled against the Dodgers in his career, going 1-2 with a 5.71 ERA, striking out just 22 hitters in 17.1 innings. Taking everything into consideration, I think the Dodgers can score enough in tonight’s matchup and win by 2 or more runs as they wrap up this 4-game set against the Giants.

Giants vs Dodgers prediction: LA Dodgers -1.5 (+120) at the time of publishing. Playable up to +105.
