The Baltimore Orioles enter their opportunity to sweep the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday under a cloud of uncertainty, as multiple starting pitchers could potentially take the mound. Chris Bassitt seemed to be the starter in line, whether he began the game or went behind an opener as he did in his last outing, but there is now speculation that Trey Gibson will get the recall from AAA for his third start of the season.

The Rays will counter with Steven Matz, who has been steady for the Rays this season after a successful run in the American League East with the Boston Red Sox last season. Neither him or Bassitt gives the Orioles a ton of confidence heading into this game, as the veteran allowed 12 earned runs over 19.1 innings so far in May. With Baltimore already getting the win in the first 2 games of the series, it feels like a great time for the Rays to get one back with Matz on the mound.
