Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write up my plays for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief writeups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!

I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season and this season is listed in my bio. On the year, I’ve recorded 195 wins and 141 losses for a gain of +35.25 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite plays for Tuesday.

Jordan Montgomery (STL) over 16.5 outs (-115)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

We’ve backed Jordan Montgomery plenty of times since he switched from the New York Yankees to the St. Louis Cardinals at the trade deadline. In 7 starts with the Cardinals, Montgomery has a record of 5-0 and an ERA of 1.45. The Cardinals were fighting for a playoff spot before acquiring Montgomery and now are 8 games ahead of their opponent tonight, their division rivals the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Brewers have severely struggled all season long against left-handed pitching. In the last 30 days, they’re hitting .197 with an on-base percentage of .286: both bottom 5 during that span. Montgomery has already had success against the Brewers as a member of the Cardinals. Back in August, he pitched 6 shutout innings with 8 strikeouts.

Montgomery is over this line in 5 of 7 games as a Cardinal and will look to help seal the NL Central title against the 2nd-place Brewers.

Drew Kremer (BAL) under 2.5 earned runs (-115)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Drew Kremer has come into his own these last few games. In 5 starts in July, he had an ERA upwards of 7.00 and was over this line in 4 of 5 starts. What he has done since has been remarkable. In 5 starts in August and 2 in September, Kremer has stayed under this line 6 of 7 with an ERA of 1.6o in his last 5 starts. Tonight, he’ll face off against the 49-92 Washington Nationals, who are surprisingly hitting right-handed pitching well.

The Nationals are among the league leaders in most hitting categories against right-handed pitching in the last month but have struggled to produce runs on starters. In their last 15 games against right-handed starters, they’ve failed to score 3 runs in 10 of those games. This game lines up perfectly for Kremer. He does allow his fair share of hits but along with the Baltimore Orioles defense, they get themselves out of jams.

His outs prop of 15.5 is another play I highly consider but it is upwards of -140 at the moment so we will settle on his earned run prop that goes hand in hand.
