Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write my plays up for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief writeups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!

I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season and this season is listed in my bio. On the year, I’ve recorded 75 wins and 60 losses for a gain of +10.2 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for Saturday.

Carlos Carrasco (NYM) over 5.5 hits allowed (+115)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Carlos Carrasco is off to a 7-1 start to his 2022 campaign. He’s a huge part of the Mets NL leading 39 wins. With all that being said, I’m fading Carassco and projecting the Los Angeles Angels to hit him hard early.

Not having Mike Trout in the lineup is not ideal but the Angels have combined for 17 hits in 13 innings in their last 3 games versus right-handed starters without the superstar. Even in their last 10 games, they’ve cashed this prop in 6 of them.

Carassco has allowed at least 6 hits in 6 of 11 starts. He’s eclipsed over 90 pitches in his last 2 starts and we should a extended outing from the 35-year old.

Zach Plesac (CLE) under 2.5 earned runs (-110)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

These under earned runs props have been good to us. Today we’re targeting Cleveland Guardians pitcher Zach Plesac against the struggling Oakland Athletics.

There’s no hiding from the fact that Plesac has had some blowup games. His ERA is at 4.72 due to allowing at least 4 earned runs in 4 starts. Other than that, he’s been under this line in 6 of 10 starts. He gets his best matchup all season long against the Athletics who are hitting .208 against right-handed pitching the last 2 weeks. The Athletics have stayed under this line in 5 straight starts versus opposing right-handed starters and I see them struggling again today.
