Best MLB player prop for Monday's slate: Bombs away Astros
As we get to the end of the MLB season, obviously we need to be betting these games. But not to sound like a mook, we also need to be careful. A lot like these hitters, we need be patient and wait for our bets. Now is not the time to go chasing just anything. There’s a chance we’ll be seeing replays of these games forever so the last thing you want is the replays to bring up bad memories of dumb bets you made. You know I’m right and I only know this because of dumb bets I made. It happens. Here’s a plus money line MLB player prop tonight that should keep us on the right side of history.
If you’re on Twitter, you need to follow me right now. That’s the best advice I can give you and probably the smartest thing you will do all day. Once lineups are announced for this game, there is a chance for opportunity to knock. You should be there to answer it.
Eduardo Rodriguez over .5 home runs allowed (+140)
Line available at DraftKings at time of publishing.
The ALCS/NLCS and World Series are generally where bettors can lose their regular-season profits if they aren’t careful. Managers do wild stuff that no one ever sees coming which can kill us pitcher prop guys. I like to stay in the plus money line realm and I found this MLB player prop at DraftKings (I haven’t seen home runs allowed at many other books).
Why won’t this guy give up a dinger tonight? He hasn’t given 1 up in 6.2 innings of work in the playoffs this season but he gave up 19 in under 160 innings of regular-season work. A vast majority of those dingers (14) were to right-handed hitters which the Astros have plenty of littering their lineup. Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa and Yuli Gurriel have all gone deep in this series and all should be in the lineup tonight.
In the regular season, Rodriguez gave up 12 earned runs in only 9.1 innings pitched against the Astros. There was a dinger hit off him in both starts. On top of that, there are 5 Astros projected to be in tonight’s lineup that have all taken Rodriguez yard at some point. These bets are always tricky but this one should definitely not be +140.
This is my favorite MLB player prop of the night.
