Show Bio

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. Another Eastern Conference semi-finals series begins today as the Philadelphia 76ers visit the Boston Celtics. The visitors could have a tough task at hand with superstar Joel Embiid currently listed as doubtful to play. That game will be followed up by Game 2 between the Phoenix Suns and the Denver Nuggets. The hosts came out as surprisingly comfortable winners in the first game of series and will be looking to keep that going here.

You can check out our NBA picks on the side and total for each of today’s games, but for now, let’s dive into my favorite NBA player prop bets for tonight.

James Harden Over 2.5 made threes (-125)

With Joel Embiid being listed as doubtful for the Philadelphia 76ers, James Harden is going to have to take on more of the offensive burden. His perimeter attack is going to be a major part of that. He is making 42.5% of his attempts this postseason and should be capable of getting his shot off. Harden has one of the best step back jumpers in the league and should be able to create enough space against the likes of Marcus Smart.  Against the Celtics he has attempted at least 7 3-pointers in each of the 4 regular season games. He hit the over on this line in 3 of those. With his recent efficiency, he should be able to further improve on that.

Al Horford Over 9.5 rebounds + assists (+100)

So far in these playoffs, Al Horford is averaging 7.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. He has managed a combined 10 in each of his last 3 games. He should be able to continue that streak against a 76ers team that could be without Joel Embiid. Paul Reed would be very likely to replace him in the starting lineup. The 76ers center lacks the ability to space the floor, much like Horfords last opponent Clint Capela. It should allow the Celtics center to maintain great rebounding position throughout the night. Horfords ability to play out of the high post should help pull Reed away from the rim, leaving room for cutters. Do not be surprised to see him rack up at least 5 assists here, which should help set this line up.

Jamal Murray Over 3.5 made threes (+118)

Jamal Murray has been on fire when playing at home in the playoffs. The best value selection for him tonight should be on his 3-pointers made. He has made at least 4 3-pointers in every home game this postseason, not shooting below 40% in any of those contests. Overall, in the postseason, he is making 46.2% of his shots from deep. That level of efficiency should help this over hit tonight. Among playoff teams the Suns are 10th in opponent 3-point percentage. Chris Paul is going to be his direct matchup but with the Suns point guard lack of height, he should have issues affecting Murrays jump shot. With Nikola Jokic drawing so much attention on the inside, Murray should continue to thrive as a perimeter threat.

Kevin Durant Over 29.5 points (-113)

Kevin Durant managed 29 points in Game 1 of the series against the Denver Nuggets. He made 63.2% of his field goal attempts. Considering that he only took 19 shots, I am expecting him to feature more heavily tonight. The Nuggets handily outscored the Suns last time out and Durant should play a huge role of closing that gap. The Nuggets were a middle of the road team in defensive rating in the regular season. Michael Porter Jr. is hardly the greatest on ball defender while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope lacks the size to impact Durant’s jump shot. Considering the Suns man has shot above 52% in each of his last 5 games, he should be able to surpass the 30-point mark here.
