Show Bio

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. After a massive 12-game slate last night, the NBA is right back at it with 8 more games tonight. We will get to see the immediate rematch between the New Orleans Pelicans and Utah Jazz after the dramatic ending to their game last night. The Chicago Bull will also be taking on the Miami Heat as the two giants tussle for ownership of the second seed in the Eastern Conference. As always you can find our full game previews here. But now lets look at my favorite prop play of the day.

Trae Young over 24.5 points (-112)

Tonight, there is really one game everyone wants to see, and it’s the first game of the season between the New York Knick and the Atlanta Hawks. Trae Young was able to dominate the playoff series between the two sides last year, averaging 29.2 points per game. Unfortunately for the Knicks, they will once again be catching Trae Young in terrific form.

The Atlanta Hawks guard has managed to record 30 or more points in 3 straight games. Last night against the Grizzlies, he put up a 31-point double-double in just 27 minutes of action. Over the last 10 games the Hawks have been the leaders in the league in offensive rating, with Young at the heart of that. The point guard has managed to score 25 or more points in 8 of the 14 games this month. Considering the emotions surrounding this game, I expect him to be very aggressive offensively.

The Knicks have not been as good defensively as people would expect of a Tom Thibodeau team. They currently only rank 19th in the league in defensive rating and have given up big scoring games to opposing guards recently. Devin Booker, Russell Westbrook and DeMar DeRozan have each scored 30 or more in the Knicks last 3 games, and Young will like his chances of joining that list.
