Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write my plays up for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief writeups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!

I pride myself in being as transparent as they come. My NBA record from last season and this season are listed in my bio alongside my MLB record. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for Tuesday.

Luka Doncic (Mavericks) over 31.5 points (-104)

Line available at Fanduel Sportsbook at time of publishing

Luka Doncic had a career month in February. In 10 games, he averaged 34.7 points on just about 25 shots per game. He knows he has to carry the scoring load if the Mavericks want to continue to fight for a top 4 seed in the Western Conference.

The Dallas Mavericks will be in Los Angeles to face the disappointing Lakers. The Lakers’ backcourt defense has been poor all year long. They allow the most points per game to the point-guard position and the 7th-most points in the league overall.

I expect Doncic to put on a show tonight in front of the L.A. crowd and show why he is arguably a top 5 player in the NBA.

Marcus Smart (Celtics) over 17.5 points + assists (-115)

Line available at Caesars Sportsbook at time of publishing

Marcus Smart has been good to me. I am 3-0 on Smart props this season, including a 16.5+ points + assists last Thursday against the Brooklyn Nets (he finished with 21).

The Celtics are going up against a familiar opponent in the Atlanta Hawks tonight. He has cashed this prop in all 3 games this season against the Hawks. Atlanta has endured serious trouble defending the point-guard position. This has a lot to do with Trae Young being the primary defender. Opponents have an offensive rating of 116 when Young is on the court, compared to 110 when he is off. The last 5 starting point guards to face the Hawks have averaged 27 points + assists — including them all going over their season averages.

Smart is over this line in 9 of his last 10 games when seeing over 30 minutes. I have Smart projected at 32 minutes in this Eastern Conference showdown.
