KBO picks and predictions

Due to a few doubleheaders, Friday’s seven-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

KIA Tigers/Lotte Giants Under 9.5 Runs (+102) (Game 1)

Game one of the doubleheader will see Hyun-jong Yang start for the Kia Tigers and Jun-won Seo on the mound for the Giants. Yang is 9-6 on the season with an ERA of 4.92. Seo is 6-4 on the year with an ERA of 4.77. Neither are pretty numbers, but we want to look at recent numbers to justify this under. Over his last four starts, Yang is 3-0 with an ERA of 1.47. During this stretch, he has allowed just three runs over his last 18.1 innings pitched. Seo has also been very good over his last four starts, allowing six runs over his last 18.1 innings. He has an ERA of 2.95 during this stretch and is 2-0.

As a result, I am going to back the under here and look for both pitchers to continue to pitch well.

Doosan Bears/Samsung Lions Under 11.5 Runs (-128)

This is another game where the starting pitchers do not look the best on the surface, but recently they both have been solid. Starting for the Bears will be Hui-kwan Yu. Overall he is 8-7 with a 4.79 ERA. Over his last four starts, he is 2-1 with a 2.19 ERA. He also is 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA against this Lions team.

Samsung will counter with David Buchanan. he is 11-6 with a 3.84 ERA. Over the same four game stretch, Buchanan is 3-0 with a 2.70 ERA. In his lone start against Doosan, he shut them out over 7.0 innings.

I will stick with the under here as I do not see the streaks for these pitchers ending just yet.

Hanwha Eagles +1.5 Run Line (+108)

Starting for this Hanwha team will be Min-woo Kim. He is 3-8 on the season and posts an ERA of 4.27. His last five starts however, have not been all that bad, posting an ERA of 3.70.

Kiwoom will counter with Hyun-hee Han, who is 6-6 on the year with an ERA of 5.59. His last five starts have been less than ideal, allowing 14 runs over his last 29.1 innings. This gives him an ERA of 4.30 over this stretch.

The line on Kiwoom is much too high here, but I also do not want the Kiwoom run line because of their pitcher. As a result, I am going to take the Hanwha run line and hope that their pitcher, who is in better from, can slow down the Heroes enough to keep this game close.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +648.
