A huge Tuesday slate of Major League Baseball action consists of 16 games, including a double-header between the Detroit Tigers and Oakland Athletics. The headliner is a TBS showdown between the Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves. Here is a look at the best same game parlay option for Red Sox-Braves and also be sure to check out our full game preview for picks on the side and total.

I cashed my last same game parlay for Sunday Night Baseball between the Cubs and Dodgers at +899, so let’s keep the momentum going!

Atlanta Braves -1.5 (+142)

Matt Olson to record an RBI (+150)

Garrett Whitlock Over 5.5 strikeouts (+108)

Parlay odds: +1310

Part of the value in same game parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is some of the plan here, as Matt Olson driving in at least one run would obviously work well with an Atlanta win and cover. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. That is the case with backing Red Sox starter Garrett Whitlock to strike out his fair share of batters, but even if he does there is no reason why the Braves can’t take care of business. Let’s break down each of the three legs one by one.

Atlanta Braves -1.5 (+142)

We have Atlanta -1.5 in our MLB mega parlay and I am going with the same for this SGP. The Braves endured a bit of a championship hangover to start the season but they have won three of their past four games, with the three wins coming by a combined score of 21-6. The Red Sox have been one of the league’s biggest disappointments, entering this one at just 10-19. Making matters worse for Boston’s already anemic offense – which ranks 26th in the league in OPS – is that Kyle Wright will be pitching for Atlanta. Wright has been sensational in his first full season in the starting rotation, entering with a 1.74 ERA and 0.97 WHIP through five outings. In 3 starts at home he has given up just one run on nine hits across 19.0 innings.

Matt Olson to record an RBI (+150)

Olson has cooled off somewhat following a hot start with his new team, but he launched a three-run homer against the Mets last Tuesday and added two RBIs during Sunday’s win over Milwaukee. The first baseman has seven RBIs in eight games this month. He is batting .282 against right-handers compared to .231 against lefties, so a matchup with Whitlock should be favorable. Ronald Acuna Jr. is batting ahead of Olson and has heated up, while wrapping around the bottom of the order Dansby Swanson has heated up in a big way. Olson should have plenty of opportunities to drive in at least one on Tuesday night.

Garrett Whitlock Over 5.5 strikeouts (+108)

In 12.0 innings as a starting pitcher, Whitlock has recorded 18 strikeouts. The long reliever was moved into the starting rotation a few weeks ago and has been stellar in his new role. In his last start he allowed 2 runs on 2 hits while recording a career-high 9 strikeouts in 5.0 innings against the Angels. Whitlock has a 35.8 percent strikeout rate this season and ranks in the 91st percentile in whiff rate. His 1.86 xERA and .182 xBA illustrate how good of a season Whitlock is having. Meanwhile, the Braves have struck out more times than every team in Major League Baseball other than the Angels.
