MLB Sunday same game parlay (+1093 odds): San Diego Padres vs Philadelphia Phillies

Fernando Tatis Jr. Padres

There’s nothing more American than a same game parlay on the 4th of July. What’s even better is the fact that all we have to do is get the grill hot and turn our televisions to TBS by 1:05pm ET. Everything else is taken care of. The San Diego Padres and Philadelphia Phillies are providing the entertainment and FanDuel is giving us the same game parlay opportunity. We’re talking Fernando Tatis Jr. and Blake Snell here people. If you’re not excited for that, then you need to talk to somebody. My DMs are open. Happy 4th of July!

Let’s take a look at the best options for this showdown and don’t forget to check out our full game preview for picks on the side and total. You can also follow me on Twitter for any other bets I might throw out throughout the day.

Blake Snell over 6.5 strikeouts (+126)

Snell has only covered this number in three of eight road starts this season but I don’t care. I still like it. For one, he’s too good of a pitcher for that trend to keep up. We’re also getting him at +126 so the price is right. He’s getting the Phillies today and while they have been better about not striking out lately, they still haven’t been good. Philadelphia has struck out 56 times in their last 191 at bats which puts them near 30% in K-rate. I think Snell gets at least seven of them to sit down today.

San Diego Padres -2.5 (+180)

What’s even crazier than Snell’s strikeout stats on the road is his team’s win/loss record in those starts. So far this season, the Padres have not won a single one of Snell’s road starts. That’s right, they’re 0-8 in Snell’s starts away from Petco Park. At some point that streak has to stop and I think that day is today. The Phillies are hitting .204 in their last five games and one of their projected starters has a hit off of Snell in their career. Batter vs pitcher doesn’t matter but still. Philadelphia isn’t a team built for lefties and I think the Padres offense does enough to win this by at least three runs.

Padres vs Phillies under 8.5 (+110)

This one takes some intestinal fortitude to lay down people. We already have the Padres by -2.5 but now we’re saying the game will go under 8.5? This is madness but it’s also why we’re getting +1093 on a three-leg parlay. It’s not that crazy though. This one could end up being a 5-1 Padres’ win. It could also be 3-0, 4-1, 5-2, 4-0, 6-0, 6-1 or even 6-2. I think you get my point. Both games in this series have gone under 7.5 and given the pitching matchup today, I’ll gladly take the under again. We just need the Padres to win this one. By at least three runs. That’s not asking too much.
