MLB Sunday same game parlay (+1386 odds): New York Yankees vs Boston Red Sox

Giancarlo Stanton Yankees vs Red Sox

Anytime you look at the MLB schedule and see a New York Yankees/Boston Red Sox matchup on TBS, you have to bet it. Those are just the rules. I was thinking about sides and totals but then I saw a player prop I liked and that’s when the magic happened. I went from a run of the mill +130 play on Boston -1.5 to a truly majestic +1386 same game parlay. The best part is, it’s not even that crazy. This could easily happen, and I actually think it will.

Before we get to the same game parlay, don’t be the person that forgets about our full game preview for picks on the side and total for this one. You can also follow me on Twitter for any other bets I might throw out throughout the day. Bets are just flying all over the place here.

Yankees vs Red Sox over 11.5 (+134)

Giancarlo Stanton to hit a home run (+210)

Boston Red Sox -1.5 (+130)

Parlay odds: +1386

Xander Bogaerts Red Sox

Yankees vs Red Sox over 11.5 (+134)

Here’s the thing about this one: both starting pitchers are fairly generous guys with ERAs in the 4s. Winds are blowing out to left field at 15 mph today in Boston which means we may see a dinger or two from the righties. I know the Yankees are still reeling from the COVID stuff but they had a stretch of 3 straight games where they combined with their opponent to score at least 10 runs with this abbreviated roster. They can still put runs on the board as they just hung 9 runs on the Red Sox last Sunday in Martin Perez’s last start. This has the look and feel of a 9-6 type game and at +134, over 11.5 is a good place to start this parlay.

Giancarlo Stanton to hit a home run (+210)

I said the winds are blowing out to left field at 15 mph which is prime bomb condition. Especially for a guy like Giancarlo Stanton. Batter vs pitcher stats are never the way to go but Stanton has homered twice in only 10 career at bats vs Perez. Perez has given up 12 dingers in 88.2 inning pitched this season. While that is not horrible, it still shows he can serve one up. All it will take mistake from Perez and Stanton could put one on Lansdowne Street. At +210, why not throw this one in the parlay.

Boston Red Sox -1.5 (+130)

Even with Stanton hitting a home run, I still think Boston wins this one by at least two runs. I have zero faith in Domingo German as he hasn’t gone longer than 4.0 innings since June 13. In 7 starts since then, he’s given up at least 2 earned runs in 6 of those starts. The Yankees have lost all 3 of his starts against the Red Sox this season and 2 of them have been by at least 2 runs. We are surely going to see the Yankee bullpen and while they’ve been good on the season, they’ve given up 23 runs in their last 45.2 innings pitched. If the Red Sox get to German early, we could see the relievers the Red Sox want to see today which means trouble for New York.
