MLB Wednesday four-leg mega parlay (+1421): Padres call Cubs daddy

Chicago Cubs Anthony Rizzo MLB parlay

We’ve been blessed with a 12-game MLB slate today. Let me tell you something about blessings; you can’t waste them. Frankly, you don’t know how many you are going to get. I’m taking advantage of this slate by laying down an MLB parlay. Nothing crazy, just a little four-teamer to get my mind right. MLB Network is hooking us up with a little day action starting with either the Phillies/Reds at 12:35pm ET or the White Sox/Indians at 1:10pm ET. If you want to wait until later in the day, ESPN is showing the Red Sox/Astros at 8:10pm ET, and we’ve even got a same game parlay for that matchup.

Point is, today has potential and if this MLB parlay hits, it will go down as one of the better days in gambling history. We’ve also got picks on the side and total for all of today’s games.

Chicago Cubs ML (-118)

New York Mets ML (-104)

Tampa Bay Rays ML (+114)

Texas Rangers ML (-104)

Parlay odds: +1421

Chicago Cubs ML (-118)

I’m starting at Wrigley today at 2:20pm ET. I don’t hate Dinelson Lamet but the way the Padres are using him is frustrating. He will probably only go three or four innings again and even though the Padres have the best bullpen on the year in MLB in terms of ERA, they haven’t been good lately. It’s actually the Cubs that have MLB’s best bullpen over the last two weeks. Their offense is coming around too. Over the last week, Chicago is fourth in all of MLB in OPS and Anthony Rizzo just came back. Give me all the Cubs you can give me here.

New York Mets ML (-104)

If we can get this Mets win, we’ll make it to the night games with the MLB parlay intact. String some wins together is all we’re trying to do here. The Mets are sending David Peterson to the hill today and I feel good about that. If the Diamondbacks hit him around, we can lean on the Mets’ bullpen which is third best in MLB over the last 15 days. If not, then we have a starter not giving up runs. The Diamondbacks can’t say the same. Madison Bumgarner just got waxed last time out against St. Louis and he’s given up four home runs in his last 14 innings pitched. Jonathan Villar, Pete Alonso and Jose Peraza have all taken him deep in the past. I like the Mets today.

Shane McClanahan MLB parlay

Tampa Bay Rays ML (+114)

Here’s the thing about Shane McClanahan: the Rays win when he pitches. After losing his first start of the season against the Oakland Athletics back on April 29th, they have now won the last five McClanahan starts. In their last seven games, the Yankees have only hit .196 and scored 2.3 runs per game. That is not what you want to see if you are backing them as favorites tonight. Jordan Montgomery will have his hands full with Tampa as five of the seven dingers he’s given up on the season have come to Rays’ players. I think Tampa wins this one and keeps our MLB parlay alive for the last leg.

Texas Rangers ML (-104)

This one is more about Antonio Senzatela than anything. Going back to April 13th, Colorado has lost seven of his eight starts. My biggest issue with him is that he doesn’t strike anyone out. In 50.2 innings, he only has 31 Ks to his name. He gets a Rangers team tonight that isn’t great but has enough pieces to put a few runs on the board. Jordan Lyles should do enough to limit a weak Rockies offense as the Rangers won four of his six May starts. I think the Rangers are going to cash the MLB parlay tonight at about 11:42pm ET.
