I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. We were able to cash our Game 3 YRFI/NRFI play last night, so let’s go back-to-back tonight. It’s been quite a thrilling series so far, with the Astros and Phillies trading games thus far. With that in mind, that can make predicting sides and totals a bit more difficult. Instead, we can predict if a run will be scored in the 1st inning or not for a more isolated play with fewer variables. Let’s break down Game 4’s matchup to earn you profit in just about 15 minutes. Along with this early play, be sure to check out our MLB analysis for all of the upcoming World Series action.

Let’s take a closer look at my favorite YRFI/NRFI bet for today’s 2022 World Series Game 4.

Houston Astros vs Philadelphia Phillies: NRFI (-122)

Much like how the teams have traded wins so far in this World Series, we’re going to lean into that zig-zag trend. Game 1 saw a scoreless 1st inning. Then the Astros put up 3 early runs in Game 2, with the Phillies scoring 2 runs in the 1st frame last night. If these teams have taught us anything, we’re in for a scoreless 1st inning tonight. That shouldn’t be too surprising given the starting pitching matchup.

The Phillies are going with Aaron Nola, who they’ve considered their best pitcher through this postseason. Although he didn’t have his best start in Game 1, he still kept Jose Altuve and Houston scoreless in the 1st inning. It wasn’t Cristian Javier on the mound opposite him, but it will be tonight. The last time he was on the mound was Game 3 of the ALCS, which means he enters this contest with 11 days of rest. That last outing was also a great performance as Javier helped take down the New York Yankees 5-0. It may be difficult to doubt the Phillies’ bats after last night, but a rested Javier can keep them in check.
