Wednesday is a busy night in the NBA as 22 teams hit the hardwood. We have a NBA TV double-header coming our way, I’m focusing on the Charlotte Hornets vs LA Clippers game for my Same Game Parlay bet. Tip-off is at 10 pm ET, right after the Warriors vs Nets game.

Continue reading below to see my bet, but also don’t forget to check our NBA Predictions page for picks on the side and total for tonight’s 11-game slate.

Let’s dive into the Hornets vs Clippers game now!

Mason Plumlee Over 9.5 Points (+102)

Gordon Hayward Over 1.5 Made Threes (+118)

LaMelo Ball to Record 10+ Assists (+290)

Same Game Parlay odds: +1494

Mason Plumlee Over 9.5 Points (+102)

The biggest thing working in Plumlee’s favor right now is the recovery of LaMelo Ball. The Hornets finally get their starting point guard back after a long layoff and the results are already there, as they ended their long losing streak with a win at Sacramento on Monday. It just so happens that Plumlee had 15 points in that game. It was his 2nd game in a row scoring double-digit points, and his 7th in 10 games played in December. Most of his buckets come from the inside, and there is a good chance the Clippers will be without their big man Ivica Zubac, who missed their last game against Washington. The Wizards scored 54 points in the paint in that game, so a player like Plumlee should feast on the inside if that happens again. In his career, he’s played the Clippers 27 times and averages 10.6 points per game, scoring 10+ points in 3 of the last 5.

Gordon Hayward Over 1.5 Made Threes (+118)

Another injury that could impact tonight’s game is the injury to Terry Rozier who will be out with a hip problem. That means the Hornets have to make up for 20.9 points per game Rozier averages, a good opportunity for Hayward to show he is still a productive player. He’s been steadily improving in the 3 games since coming back scoring 9, 15 and 19 points in the last game against Sacramento. His field goal percentage is at 50%, while he’s knocked down 40% of his threes as well. Paul George is a really good defender, but he’s also bothered by a knee injury which could slow him down on defense a bit. With LaMelo spreading the floor and attracting most of the attention, players like Hayward will flourish here. In 6 of his last 7 games against the Clippers he’s scored at least 2 threes.

Wednesday’s NBA Mega Parlay has +1258 odds!

LaMelo Ball to Record 10+ Assists (+290)

No Rozier means the ball will spend the majority of the night in LaMelo’s hands when the Hornets are on offense. He’s averaging 7.8 assists per game in the 4 games since coming back from injury, on Monday vs the Kings he finished with 12 assists, the 2nd time he’s collected at least 11 in those 4 games. He has the size advantage over the opposing point guard Reggie Jackson, that’s always a plus as he can just look over him and find teammates on a consistent basis. Charlotte plays the 9th fastest pace in the NBA, LaMelo has played only 7 games this season due to injury, so he has enough energy to push the tempo here. The last time he faced the Clippers he had a stat line of 23 points and 10 dimes, if he wants to keep his team competitive here, he will have to push that at least to 25 and 12 assists.
