Philadelphia 76ers 1-10 win margin (+170)

The 76ers have been on a remarkable run, winning 9 of their last 10 games. They are just 2 games behind the Boston Celtics, who hold the #1 seed in the East, so a win would be a huge boost to the Sixers. They won their previous meeting against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden , 119-112 on Christmas Day. Joel Embiid and James Harden had themselves a night with 35 and 29 points, and both of them are healthy and ready to go tonight. New York had a tough game last night against the Clippers, which they lost in overtime, so head coach Tom Thibodeau could be forced to expand his rotation a bit if there are some gassed players out there. Philly has had the Knicks’ number for quite some time. The Sixers have won 17 of the last 20 meetings, including 10 of the last 11 played at MSG. Add to that Philly’s record of 8 straight road wins, and I think the Knicks won’t be up to their level in this one. I’ll take the Sixers to win by 1-10 points.

Joel Embiid 2+ made threes (+180)

Joel Embiid has been an absolute monster in all facets of the game on offense, averaging 33.5 points per game to lead the NBA. What many people don’t realize is that his 3-point shooting has also steadily improved over the last 9 games. He’s shooting it at almost 43% efficiency which is truly remarkable for a player of his size. He finished January by making 1.6 threes per game and he’s off to a hot start this month, making 50% of his attempts in the 2 games he’s played. Embiid cleared this line against the Spurs on Friday while playing just 28 minutes. The additional rest should do him well as he has been bothered by a foot problem which caused him to miss games earlier this season. Because of that injury I think he could settle for the outside shot a bit more. He had 35 points against the Knicks earlier this season while making 1 of 2 threes. He has cleared this line twice in the last 5 meetings against them.

Jalen Brunson 3+ made threes (+220)

Jalen Brunson dropped 41 points on the LA Clippers last night in one of his best games since becoming a Knick. He shot 14-for-19 from the field and drained 5 of 7 threes. The game went to overtime, but Brunson played only 38 minutes, so he should be fresh enough for tonight’s game. Julius Randle, RJ Barrett and Quentin Grimes all played more minutes than Brunson, so he might have to carry the load even more if there are some tired legs out there. There’s no doubt in my mind he’ll be able to answer the call, as he’s been consistent from three over the last 10 games, knocking down 44% of his attempts. Against Philly he’s made at least 2 threes twice in the last 3 meetings, while scoring over 20 in the last 3 games against them. With Harden being his primary defender, I think Brunson will be able to use his speed to find room around the perimeter and punish the Sixers a few times.
