I'm an NFL handicapper here at Pickswise who was raised in a household full of sports fanatics. Since I unfortunately never had LeBron James' jumping ability I wasn't able to make it to the NBA, and chose writing about sports as the next best thing. An avid sports bettor myself, I'm excited to get to write about the industry as it gets set to take off across the country. Buckle up. We’ve got a jam-packed NBA Wednesday slate with 12 games on it, and the best one is this matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron James vs. his protege Ben Simmons, Anthony Davis and Joel Embiid banging around in the post, it doesn’t get much better than that in the NBA.

What better way to make this nationally televised showdown even more entertaining than by betting a same game parlay? We’ve also got thoughts on the side and total, which you can find out in our full game preview. If you’re new to same game parlays and want to find out more, be sure to check out our handy guide, which details how they work and which sportsbooks currently offer them.

Los Angeles Lakers to win by 11+ (+320)

Anthony Davis under 23.5 points (-118)

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope over 9.5 points (+102)

Parlay odds: +1451

We’ve got a three-leg one for you here, which pays out at almost 15/1 with FanDuel Sportsbook. By combining the Lakers to win by at least 11 with the under on Davis’ points, we get a big odds boost when I really don’t think they conflict too much. Let’s break it all down:

Los Angeles Lakers to win by 11+ (+320)

The Lakers are on a roll right now, and have won 12 of their past 14 games, with their only recent loss coming by just two points against the Warriors. Simply put, they’re a threat to win by this much on any night, against any team. Five of their past seven wins have been by at least 11 points, so if you think they’re going to win here, there’s a good chance it’s lopsided. The 76ers started hot but they’ve now gone just 5-5 in their last 10 games, and they just lost by 15 to the Pistons in their most recent contest. Two of their wins in that span came against a Heat team missing Jimmy Butler and a good chunk of their roster. James always shows up for nationally televised games, and he’ll want to make a statement here.

Anthony Davis under 23.5 points (-118)

We get a big odds boost by throwing this one in, when we certainly don’t need a huge night from Davis for the Lakers to win by at least 11. Davis’ scoring has dipped big time this season, and he’s been held to 19 points or fewer in six of his past seven games. I also like the matchup a lot here. Davis played well in the Lakers’ two games against Philly last year, but Embiid didn’t play in either of those games. I don’t think oddsmakers are accounting for that.

The last time Davis matched up against Embiid was the season before, and he only scored 12 points in a whopping 41 minutes. In other words he got dominated, and it was one of his worst performances of the year. Embiid is one of the best defensive players in the league, and I think he’ll irritate Davis well here. If the Lakers are winning in a blowout Davis also won’t be playing late in the game, which helps us here as well.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope over 9.5 points (+102)

I think Caldwell-Pope is being undervalued here. He’s scored at least ten points in eight of his past 11 games, so I think this line is being a bit conservative. He’s seeing consistent volume, and is averaging five three-point attempts per game in the month of January. If Davis isn’t having a big night other role players will need to step up, including Caldwell-Pope. KCP obviously isn’t a star so he won’t get rested for garbage time if the Lakers are running away with this one like Davis will.
