We’ve got late night NBA action (if you’re on the east coast) so I feel like we should be betting it. The Los Angeles Lakers are in Portland taking on the Trail Blazers at 10:30pm ET on NBA TV. Even if we’re not taking a side or total, we should still have something. What if we’re still up and need something to gamble on? It makes sense. I decided to go same game parlay on this one. It’s Saturday night so betting something at +800 just feels like the right thing to do. Here’s what I have.

Why can’t the Lakers win this game? Are the Portland Trail Blazers good? I don’t think so. Portland is 4-5 on the season and although they do play well at home, they just lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday. They also got beat by the Philadelphia 76ers who didn’t even have Joel Embiid or Tobias Harris. That’s a good thing because the Lakers won’t have LeBron James for this one but Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis should be able to hold things down. The Lakers should be very motivated after an embarrassing loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder Friday night. This feels like a coin flip at best but unlike more coin flips, we’re getting +184 here.

Portland Trail Blazers Team Total Over 114.5 (-102)
The Lakers play at the fastest pace in the NBA so they should force the Trail Blazers to run with them. Especially if Los Angeles has a lead. We just saw the Lakers beat the Houston Rockets Tuesday night while giving up 117 points. It’s not like this is crazy to think the Lakers can’t win this one 120-117 or something like that. Portland is also the 26th best defense in the NBA in terms of efficiency so if they should give up points to Los Angeles which will kill any dead possessions later in the game. Bottom line is we shouldn’t be getting +1108 for this.
