Show Bio

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. The Brooklyn Nets take on the the Miami Heat in the second game of the day on ESPN. After our success with same game parlays last night, we have put together a +1507 selection here. The two player props should not interfere with each other here and follow recent performance trends for both players.

Be sure to check out the full game previews for the rest of todays games here.

Brooklyn Nets -2.5 (-114)

Under 223 (-110)

Kevin Durant over 2.5 threes (-102)

Kyrie Irving under 4.5 rebounds (+110)

Parlay odds: +1507

Brooklyn Nets -2.5 (-114)

The Nets are a nice play on Sunday afternoon at Miami. Harden is not going to miraculously hit the floor but their two stars are going to be more than enough against a Miami team that is struggling. Miami probably gives them a good fight for the first three quarters but Durant and Irving are such good closers that any spread under five points is always going to be a nice value if you think they are going to win the game. Brooklyn beat Miami twice at home in January and the way the Heat are playing I don’t see them getting this one to turn out the way they want. Brooklyn pulls away in the fourth.

Under 223 (-110)

Miami is a rugged defensive team, or at least they can be. In April they are 5-2 O/U, even though they are in the top ten in the league in most defensive categories. The big challenge for the Heat is going to be Durant as they have more defenders they can throw at Irving. The Nets are by no means a good defensive team but I am worried the Heat will not be able to hold up their end of the bargain on an over. The winner of this one should score in the 100’s, not the 120’s. Therefore, take the under in this one.

Kevin Durant over 2.5 threes (-102)

Kevin Durant has seen a steady increase in his minutes since his return and he could be in for another jump in playing time here. With more playing time he should be able to get more attempts up, and with the way he is currently shooting the ball, that should lead to several makes from deep. He has made three or more three pointers in each of his last two games and is shooting over 58 percent from range this month. The Heat are 21st in the league in opponent threes made over the last 10 games, and if Durant is able to get five or six shots up against them, he should be able to hit this.

Kyrie Irving under 4.5 rebounds (+110)

Kyrie Irving has not been rebounding the ball well of late. He has not recorded five rebounds in any of his last six contests. In those six he only managed four rebounds twice, with Irving recording just two rebounds in three of those games. Over the last 10 games the Heat have allowed opponents the 7th fewest rebounds in the league. They also play at the slowest pace in the league over that stretch so that should further reduce the number of rebounding opportunities for him tonight.
