This week’s NBA action continues with a 3-game slate coming our way on Tuesday. The highlight of the night is in Cleveland, as the Cavaliers host the red-hot Lakers. I’ve included that game in this mega parlay, along with two other picks.

Los Angeles Lakers ML (+172) over Cleveland Cavaliers
After a sluggish start, the Lakers are on fire having won 5 of their last 6 games, and are riding a 3-game winning streak. The Cavs came out on top in a meeting earlier this season, so I expect LeBron James to be extra motivated to beat his former team. After all, James is an astounding 17-2 straight up in 19 meetings against Cleveland in his career, while averaging 29.4 points per game. But the real key to the Lakers offense is Anthony Davis, who has tallied 99 points in his last 2 games and is coming off a 55-point, 17-rebound effort in a win over Washington.
Seeing as Jarrett Allen is questionable to play with a back injury, Davis should feast in the paint once again. The Cavs have won 6 in a row at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse and are 10-1 at home this season. However, it’s hard to ignore what AD is doing on both ends of the floor. He’s putting up monster numbers on a daily basis and it’s resulting in wins for the Lakers. Until Davis cools off, I’m going to be keep backing the Lakers, especially as underdogs.

Denver Nuggets -4.5 (-110) over Dallas Mavericks
Given the difficult situational spot for the Mavericks, look for Denver to capitalize on the rest it has had and home-court advantage. The Mavericks were able to handle a shorthanded Suns team last night, but the primary issue for Dallas continues to be the lack of support for Luka Doncic. Doncic is leading the league in points per game but the supporting cast hasn’t been great, which has caused the Mavericks to lose a bunch of tight games.
The fact that this game is being played on the second night of a back-to-back hurts Dallas because its bench production will be tested more than usual here. The Nuggets are also looking to rebound from a couple of tough losses in recent contests, so returning home to play a tired Dallas team is a great recipe for Denver to get back on track. Nikola Jokic leads a dangerous Denver scoring attack that ranks 5th in offensive rating, so look for a rejuvenated Nuggets side to pour on the points and cruise to a victory on their home floor.

Detroit Pistons +8.5 (-110) vs Miami Heat
It’s hard to expect much consistency from the Pistons, especially without Cade Cunningham in the lineup. However, the Miami Heat haven’t exactly been setting the world on fire either. The Heat are under .500 on the season and have struggled with injuries throughout their lineup. Seeing as the depth has been a struggle all season, it’s easy to see why Miami has failed to establish much momentum. Miami is 3-8-1 against the spread at home this season. That should give some concern to potential Heat backers, especially as a favorite of this many points. Miami has covered the number just once in its last 4 games when playing with no rest. Don’t expect that trend to turn around today.
